Wendigo sculpture

The wendigo is a product of Algonquian folklore and is a beast that was feared by all. This terrifying creature was known to have its biggest impact during the winter months and was thought to be responsible for the manifestation of some of the darkest parts of the human spirit.

So many forgotten stories of the things we once feared and lived amongst in the times before our cities rose.We may even still be amongst unseen monsters, tucked away in the remaining forests that surround us.The Wendigo is one such entity from aboriginal folklore.An evil spirit moulded by greed, murder and cannibalism.It is said an individual may be cursed with becoming this monster by holding a vast amount of greed in their hearts. Or consuming the flesh of their own kin. So many stories…
