Attend church

Happy Resurrection Day! I actually attended a new church this morning and really enjoyed the sermon. @pastorvincentcampbell talked about forgiveness, which is something I struggle with. I’ve been known to hold a grudge or 2 😅 but I’m still a work in progress. Did you attend church today? Some Protestants defend their liturgies by appealing to the worship practices in synagogues in Jesus' day. But there's a serious problem with this.

This past Sunday (March 22) members of Wieland-Davco were proud to be in attendance as South Church (Lansing) opened The Chapel – its new 550 seat auditorium that will host South’s growing Creative Worship Service. Pastor Don Denyes opened the service with a prayer of dedication and kind words of gratitude to Wieland-Davco. The addition also included a new administrative office wing. WDC has completed all three phases of South’s campus.

Christian groups in the US are recognizing a significant decline in church attendance, prompting a reevaluation of their outreach methods. A recent survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 37% of Americans now identify as religious "nones," a notable increase from 23% in 2009. The survey also indicated a substantial decrease in the number of Evangelical Protestants, dropping from 21% in 2009 to 16% in 2020. I have been asked why I don't want to attend church. This is a first of all two part discussion. If this upsets anyone, I am sorry, but this is life looking through my eyes.
