Generation IX
A body of pure, solid gold gives the Pokémon full immunity to other Pokémon's status moves.

Good as Gold (Japanese: おうごんのからだ Gold Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Gholdengo.

Effect

In battle

Pokémon with this Ability are unaffected by other Pokémon's status moves. It does not block status moves that target the user; the other side of the field, such as Stealth Rock; or all Pokémon, such as Haze. It does, however, block potentially beneficial status moves from ally Pokémon, such as Helping Hand, Life Dew, and Howl.

If targeting a Pokémon with Good as Gold:

  • Memento fails and does not cause the user to faint.
  • Curse used by a Ghost-type Pokémon fails and does not deduct HP from the user.
  • Strength Sap fails and does not reduce the target's Attack nor restore the user's HP.
  • Transform, though it does not affect the target, fails.
  • Spite fails and does not reduce the target's previously used move's PP.
  • Leech Seed fails and does not set the target as seeded.

Outside of battle

Good as Gold has no effect outside of battle.
