This darling quilt was created by one of our great teachers
also a former employee at Broadbent's.....
Kristin Barrus from sadiebird.blogspot.com
She just fell in love with the fabric when it came in
and had to create something from it.
The quilt was created as an inspiration piece.....but
it's so darn cute many of you want to recreate it.
Here are some simple instructions, by no means a
pattern yet, but enough instruction that a confident
quilter could re-create it without too much trouble.

Monday Book Club
Ok....I think this book had me at the title
"Colorful Quilts for Fabric Lovers"
I admit I am a fabric lover.....
I don't buy for a project, I buy because I love
a particular piece and can't live without it.
I loved studying this book to learning some tricks
to turn my fabric into quilts.
Most of the quilts have a modern flair but they are
very adaptable to what ever you love.

Monday Book Club
Usually when I review a book there is a lot of reading through background information, introductions, explanations, etc.
This book cuts to the chase and dives right into the projects.
10 different quilt projects, all have their origins in traditional quilts....
but the author has given them a modern fresh twist.
Each project has a simple, short and informative introduction and then off to
the business of cutting & sewing.
What I LOVE about this book:
1.) The graphic, instructions & photos are so clear and detailed.
2.) There are directions to make a crib, lap, twin & queen size for each project.
3.) Most of the projects are in the beginner level and totally achievable.
I really think this is a book I will make each and every quilt once
(maybe even twice), it can be a great go to when I need a quick
darling baby quilt. Give it a look!
