As of the present time (2013), no comprehensive study has been done among Israeli adolescents with regard to music downloading from the Internet. The present study examined the correlation between adolescents' moral attitude towards music downloading and the extent of their actual engagement in the activity. We found that more than 80% of the participants are involved in illegal music downloading, while gender, age, religiosity, Internet experience and average daily Internet use influence the frequency of downloading. We found that those who adhere to religious practices tend to illegally download less often than others. Long hours of internet surfing and rich internet experience raise the tendency to illegally download music. Age and gender were found to have only a minimal affect, if any, on the phenomenon. This behavior is explained in various manners, including the perception of the act (by the adolescents) as one that is accepted by society. Furthermore, the chance of getting caught and suffering any consequences is minimal, thus the deterrent hardly exists.

Background: Data science becomes ubiquitous in organizations. It is imperative to train students in management departments in the skills that are relevant to this field. Most courses in data science focus on technical knowledge like model building methods, and neglect organizational knowledge such as team roles, ethical considerations and project stages. This work suggests a complementary program that supplies the students with the required knowledge. The authors believe that this program is most suitable for management-students, and that it can also be adapted to software engineering students, in order to provide them with a wider scope. Contribution: We present the MaDaScA (Managing Data Science Activity) program. The program defines a list of topics that are required for managers’ education in order to lead data science activity. This work suggests the conte...

In consequence, students do not possess the proper skills required in today’s information era. Specifically, many students lack the skills to search efficiently for information. Moreover, even when abundant information is available to them, stu-dents are unable to critically read, analyze, and evaluate it. To address these problems we developed a high school course designed to provide students with applied logical tools. The course was developed for two different student groups: social sciences-oriented students and exact sciences-oriented students. It is composed of several parts whose con-tents depend on the students ’ orientation. This course is part of a broader program whose purpose is a comprehensive study and understanding of logical and concept-based systems. The course was taught to three high school student groups with different academi...

A questionnaire relating to the subject was distributed among 1,048 high schools students in the 7th – 11th grades in secular and religious public schools in the north, center and in the south. The questionnaire examined immoral behavior on the internet, such as harassment, downloading of prepared papers, downloading of movies and falsifying personal information, differences were found relating to gender, religious definition, years of surfing experience and daily surfing time. About half of the youth who answered the questionnaire reported exposure to pornography, a quarter of them accidently and most of them over the internet. A clear dependency was found between internet pornography exposure to gender, religious definition and internet experience. Most of the net surfing is done from the home or friends homes on computers without sieve programs. Many of the youth report high involvement in immoral behavior over the net. The parents and the educational system must be provided with tools to enable them to instruct the children on proper internet behavior.
