Monitoring grounding line migration is one of the primary examinations for determining vulnerability of ice shelves. In recent years, grounding line estimation and monitoring has been carried out using a number of techniques utilizing satellite systems and has confirmed grounding line retreats in most glaciers in West Antarctica and some areas in East Antarctica. The present study too was undertaken to monitor grounding line migration of Antarctic ice shelves. The most important aspect, however, was that monitoring must be done in high temporal and spatial resolution, and it thus required a simple and repeatable monitoring technique. Hence, it was decided that the most appropriate method was to exploit surface topography of ice because the basal variations are transmitted to the surface. The topography information can be obtained in high resolution with short time intervals due to recent development of SAR satellite systems. Finally, this study has shown that the hydrostatic ice thickness derived from surface topography can be effectively utilized to estimate grounding line position where the bottom of ice starts to diverge from the bathymetry.

As the primary business of a commercial bank involves extensively dealing with outsider‟s funds, thus a high level of trust and confidence are integral towards their operational framework. Basel Accords, initiated by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) were primarily aimed to promote safer banking practices on the one side and enable the average banking customer to access the details of bank‟s annual financial performance through mandatory disclosures on the other. The present papers aims to highlight the gradual amendments initiated within the Basel accords from version II to latest version III. An effort has been made to find out whether Indian commercial banks are ready for the Basel III norms, by analyzing the annual reports of the major public and private sector banks for the year ended 2010-11.

The efficient development of a project also requires a defined process of selection of appropriate development methodology, which is absent as on today with unpredictable results. Methods: It is proposed by the authors that to achieve predictable success for a project as per the set goals, the concept of process performance models can be very useful. The authors who have worked with many mathematical models suggest that these models can be basis for the development of process performance models for forecasting project success as per goals defined. The process performance models implementation helps to monitor the project parameters as well as improvement of Software processes. This methodology of project development based on process performance models is yet to be adopted in IT industry in a disciplined way. Results and Discussion: These models help to define relation between project variables and enable prediction of the performance of the proposed solution. The Success of a given project based on Bayesian solution for a given network problem which enables the managers to build process performance model for similar problems. The problem discussed in this paper has real life non numeric data from a project of an Indian IT company. Also, the authors have demonstrated how to assess process capability with non-numeric data input. Different mathematical models proposed by the authors to address a solution for a problem at hand have been tested with real industry data for models like Regression, Time series, Queuing Theory, Fuzzy logic etc. This paper discusses only one model just to prove the concept. Conclusion: The authors suggest that PPMs may be developed in an IT organization for different emerging areas and a library of models can be built and used for future applications. The authors opine that in future in High Maturity Organizations building Process performance models (PPM) may become a essential part of process of project development.

The selection of a particular methodology is heuristic and the performance of the system developed is unpredictable. The authors suggest that a designed process performance model (PPM) can help to predict the required factors of a process to help achieve set goals for the process. This, in turn, can help to control factors that the project and the organizations need to control and ensure expected results. PPMs may enable to work out the relationship between different variables for a well-defined project and this knowledge becomes basis for prediction of performance solution, and helps in implementation of solution. This approach related to designing of PPMs, for various real life projects situations has not been attempted by industry in a big way. The authors demonstrate how to work out the PPMs, based on the given inputs of projects, by an Indian IT company. The solution works out number of bids which arrive at a given time or predict when the next bid will arrive at service centre, based on time series and queuing theory approach. This solution approach is based on different problems that will become the basis to build PPMs for similar problems. However, an understanding of how these signaling molecules interact at the level of gene expression is lacking. Catalytically active PLD enhanced expression of EGFR in human breast cancer cells. Overexpression of the PLD2 isoform increased EGFR mRNA and protein expression. It also negated an EGFR downregulation mediated by small interfering RNA targeting EGFR (siEGFR). Several mechanisms contributed to the alteration in EGFR expression. First was the stabilization of EGFR transcripts as PLD2 delayed mRNA decay, which prolonged their half-lives. Second, RNase enzymatic activity was inhibited by PA. Third, protein stabilization also occurred, as indicated by PLD resistance to cycloheximide-induced EGFR protein degradation. Fourth, PA inhibited lyso...
