I don't maintain these Academia pages and recommend that anyone interested in my work visits either my ResearchGate page (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ian_Crawford) or my university homepage (http://www.bbk.ac.uk/geology/our-staff/ian-crawford).
My research activities mostly lie in the fields of planetary science (especially lunar science and exploration), and astrobiology (the search for life in the Universe). I have long had an interest in the future of space exploration, and am convinced that space exploration and development will prove to be of central importance for the future of humanity.
I came to planetary science from an earlier career in observational astronomy, during which I conducted studies of the interstellar medium.
