Head for the lowlands EGP

                           Gt Spotted Woodpecker

                                    Goosander in the snow

Snow and thick fog make a poor recipe for Fly Flatts or any upland birding so it was head lower down to try get below the cloud base.
Staked out Tracys Waxwing garden a while and though there is plenty berries no sign of the birds either on the way down or on the way back. Well spotted to DJS for picking out a ringed bird from the photo.
Ended up walking along the towpath at EGP where the snow was heavy throughout but not settling with grey low cloud.
Several flocks on Siskin and Redpoll were moving through the canal side Alders whilst Bullfinches favoured the Brambles. Goosander were everywhere on the ski lake, the canal and the river with at least 6 Goldeneye on the ski lake. Found 2 Gt Spotted Wdpeckers at last and 4 Cormorants were on the ski ramp.
