Machoz Toronto 1963/1964
A picture from Barak Koffler:
His notes:
This photo was taken of some members of Machoz Toronto at a reception in a
private home for Menachem Begin z"l, visiting Toronto with his wife Alizah
z"l.
At far left is Mel Starkman, next to him is Shelly Lerman, next to him to his left is
Annie Jacobs.
Crouching down (wearing glasses) is Harry Wolle. I do not know the
name of the person to the right of Harry.
Standing next to her is Zamira Miller. I do not know the name of the person
standing next right, and at far right is me (Barak).
We had our own Machoz Toronto flag.

Harry's Story
Benny,
Sharing your memories reminds me of our activites.
Our moadon was on a main street, in the heart of Toronto Jewish area. We set up a table outside with a sign & as people walked by donations started pouring in. A Betaria came running in & showed us a check she had just received for $5,000.
I went out to thank the lady & I remember her exact words-

" I was planning to give this money to the U J A, but with your enthusiastic young people, here it is."
