Well now, after a perfect alignment the other day, the stars must have jumbled themselves up again! So much for yesterday's plans! In the morning the car had a flat, Chris changed it and on inspection noticed that two other tyres had worrisome splits in them! (We have a very bumpy drive into our place which can be very hard on our tyres but to get three splits all at once was just plain unlucky, I think some track maintainance has become rather higher on the "to do" list!) So yesterday was spent replacing the tyres and wandering around Launceston while waiting for the task to be done. We looked at vacuum cleaners, as the one we have is barely functional. Don't get me wrong, it still sucks.........but it sucks........it is held together with gaffer tape and now the head has lost a spring and I can no longer lower the brushes for hard floors, so I guess we need a new one. I could go for one of those little cheapies, but I do like the Dysons! And of course, depending on who you're talking to, things get confusing. I'll just have to struggle on with my geriatric Phillips for a while, but will have to decide something soon.
So........because of yesterday's dramas I didn't get around to photographing my giveaway bear, let alone getting him in here!
I can say our shortest day was cold, wet and windy. Today is looking decidedly better with a frost this morning, and the sun shining through the bay window is managing to warm me a little. I have just popped outside and taken this photo. This is my next giveaway! ( Thankyou Sandi for making such a cute button for this one)
If you want to be in with a chance to win this bear, leave your comment below with a suggested name for him/her. If you want some extra chances repost this photo on your own blog with a link back here and I'll add your name an additional two times to the hat/bowl/basket. I think that will do, I don't want to inundate you with rules! I'll look forward to your name suggestions, the draw will take place in two weeks and the bear will be given the name that comes out of the hat. Good Luck!

Hey Linda....I think this gorgeous boy would suit the same Sami...not only is it my daughter's name (but it's unisex right?) but because the Sami people never speak the polar bear's name for fear of offending him.
ReplyDeleteThat means if I were lucky enough to win him he wouldn't be confused with my daughter as I wouldn't say his name aloud!
The Sami people would refer to him as God's dog or 'man in the fur coat'....the latter I really love!!!
I don't have a blog so I'm going to post a link on my Facebook account...
My bears all have their fingers crossed that they'll have a new playmate soon ;0)))
Hugs Jan

ReplyDeleteFinally managed to post on my blog so now more chances - yay!! So he can definitely come to live with me.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteHow very nice of you to have a giveaway for one of your sweet little bears! Of course, I am no different from all the others who left comments here when I say, he would be more than welcome here with me and the bears here. In fact, I asked the bears to look at his photo and give me a suggestion for a name. After much dithering between them they finally decided his name should be Chilly Snowflake the Artic Snow Blizzard Polar Bear. They said they would nickname him Chilly. So there's our suggestion. I hope you have a fun time with this giveaway!
~ginger
I would call him Yoshi.
ReplyDeleteI shared on sidebar: http://inga2010.blogspot.com/

Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI hope the stars will align themselves for me next Wednesday, because I would love to win this gorgeous teddy. Moreover I could do with some good news after my basement flooded last Tuesday during what must have been the worst hail storm I have ever seen (I'm playing the sympathy card here...)
I think his name would have to be "button", because he certainly pushes my buttons! ;o)
Hugs,
Peter & Little Benson
This bear is a girl IMHO, her name would be Lilly if I were so lucky to become her Mom!
ReplyDeleteOnly a bear knows his or her true name an dthey seldom share this knowledge, as knowledge of a name gives power over a creature.
