Behind that closed door,

Certainties and doubts lived together.

 Behind that closed door,

The shadow of the Holocaust

Started to be unfurled

Against many Jewish families

Who had to endure

 Unbelievable cruelty and suffering...

CREATIVE CHALLENGE: JUNKYARD

 

Not stripped of many of my parts

I left the junkyard,

With no tears pouring out of my eyes

But with a smile on my face,

Now, sitting in a comfortable place,

Many passers-by look at me and see a beauty,

Even an aesthetically pleasing sight,

Others think I’m nothing else but an eyesore

Causing safety hazard as I did before,

No matter what I am labelled by strangers,

I feel happy... I am not abandoned anymore!

Above the sea, she is missing

The rose-colored glasses

She used to see with…

Now that they are lost forever,

Everything is clearer and darker.

Where is the world

She had always seen beauty in?

Absence of her loved ones,

Emotional weight from her past.

Every time the sun rises

The burden brings her ageing,

Heavier weight,

More absences,

Shorter life!
