BY THE FIRE...

A thank you for a kind family who invited our AWANA group over for a bonfire. This is similar to a previous card that I made using QKD camping set... but I lost my campfire stamp, so I just drew this one in permanent ink as close as I could to match the stamp onto glossy paper. The tree limbs are from CTMH: What a Hoot! set. I punched out a circle from a sticky note for the moon, then sponged over with the ink. I added stickles for the stars.
Thanks for looking!

Additional Info
Stamps: CTMH: What a hoot, QKD, camping
Paper: GinaK Purelux white, chocolate chip, glossy white, dp
Ink: stazon, kiwi kiss, soft sky, baja breeze, not quite navy, basic black
Accessories: jumbo eyelets, circle and scallop circle punch, ribbon, stickles, sponges, circle swirl clip, crop-a-dile
Techniques: sponging

QKD WEDNESDAY BLOG HOP...

Welcome to the Wednesday QKD Blog Hop! This week we are featuring painting! You should be arriving from Penny's Blog. This is the last blog of the hop, to start at the beginning of the hop, click Here.
One of the reasons I enjoy stamping so much, is that I get to paint. I love to paint. Before I was introduced to stamping, I spent most of my time painting.. on wood, walls, stools, etc.. I love that I can use my aquapainter and inks to paint any lineart image, and these images from the Fantasy Art line at Queen Kat Designs are perfect for just that. I made this card with the newly released Fantasy Palm. This stamp is currently 35% OFF!! I love this stamp! I stamped the image twice: once on my card, then again on scrap paper. I cut out the fronds and poped them up. The image is colored with my aquapainter and re-inkers!! The sentiment is handwritten then punched out with an oval punch. What do you think?
Thanks for hopping by!
I hope you enjoyed our Royal Wednesday Blog hop and will be inspired to try your hand at painting . Please join us again next week..
Until then... Aloha!

CAMPING...

There is nothing I enjoy more, this time of year, than spending time with family and friends at the campground. We love to sit around the campfire, ride bikes, walk the creek and trails. Even better that we don't have our tv's, computers, and we are out of cell phone range. Back to the basics.
This stamp set is a reminder of these times, and I have enjoyed making these cards to send to my family and friends who love to camp. They are also great for use in scrapbooking, and make great accents to any camping/outdoor page (especially if you have a boy/girlscout. You don't want to miss this set... for sale now at Queen Kat Designs...
Thanks for looking and have a great Monday!

SPRINGTIME GEISHAS...

WOW! What a difference a week makes here in VA. This past weekend was sunny and 70, less than a week ago we had 10 inches of snow on the ground. The warmer days has brought out my pastel side.... a rare occasion to say the least. So.. here are my Geishas in their purple and green Springtime attire. I just can't get enough of the Geishas... I love how versatile they are. They come 2 in a set, so you can use them separately, together, or even just a portion of the image. I have to admit that I prefer them embossed. The black is so shiny and they are so fun to color.
Head on over to the store and pick up your Geishas now. There are three different sets to choose from. I hope you have a nice day my friends...

JAPANESE STAB BINDING TECHNIQUE...

Don't you just love the Giesha girls from Queen Kat Designs? I sure do, and this technique goes perfectly with this set. Just look at how easy it is to do this. All you need is to grab and extra set of chop sticks next time you get take-out. Here is how to attach your chop sticks using the Japanese Stab Binding Technique...
Step 1: Assemble your card. With card closed, measure in 1 inch from each side and punch a hole on the crease of your card. I use my crop-a-dile. Once your hole is punched, open card and insert a loop of ribbon into each hole.

Step 2: Close card, loops should be sticking up like this. Now put both chop sticks through both loops.

Step 3: Bring loose end of ribbon from inside of card around the side to the top. Slide ribbon between chop sticks and under loop. Do this on both sides.

Step 4: Tie ribbon together in the center. You can leave as a knot or tie a bow. This set is just a sneak peek for the March 4th Release. Be sure to head on over to QKD and get your set of Geishas. There are 3 different sets with 2 girls each... then try this technique!
