Considering its geographical location, strategic importance, and geopolitical depth, Türkiye’s NA... more Considering its geographical location, strategic importance, and geopolitical depth, Türkiye’s NATO membership plays a significant role in current regional and international developments. Besides, Türkiye's military and economic strength, trained human resources, geographical location, and extensive maritime and land borders represent a strategic potential to contribute to NATO's efforts in maintaining regional security and stability. Nevertheless, Türkiye’s membership in NATO is discussed by some allied countries. Türkiye's national security policies are also not always in line with other NATO member countries. This causes relations to fluctuate. The course of relations also influences Turkish public perceptions of NATO's organizational image. The primary purpose of this research is to disclose how NATO has an image in Turkish society as an intergovernmental military alliance. Since quantitative data are taken as the basis of the research, a questionnaire was employed as a data collection method. For the research, 1436 participants from different regions of Türkiye were accessed via a simple random sampling method. Based on the findings obtained as a result of the research, it is apparent that a large part of the participants does not have a clear view regarding NATO. In terms of demographic data, it was understood that female, single, 18-25 years of age and student-weighted participants had higher positive, negative, and general NATO perceptions than the others. Besides, it was observed that the group that perceived NATO as the most negative educational situation was those who had graduated from elementary school. As a result, about half of the participants believe that Türkiye should remain in the NATO, but in the event of any war, NATO will leave Türkiye alone. This situation indicates that NATO membership is strategically crucial, but it also gives the impression that the Turkish people are worried about trust. According to the findings of the study, the majority of the participants consider the USA as the main threat against Türkiye, on the other hand Azerbaijan is regarded as Türkiye's most important partner and friend in the international arena.

The concept of destination image has turned into a widely researched concept to revitalize local ... more The concept of destination image has turned into a widely researched concept to revitalize local regions. As various regions develop in tourism, they give tourists or potential tourists more choice rights, and individuals' decision process is affected via different destination options. The destination image reflects the satisfaction levels, perceptions, and experiences of tourists cognitively and emotionally. Within the scope of the research, a face-to-face survey was conducted by applying the convenience sampling method to collect the data of 497 local tourists who visited Bartın Amasra, an urban tourism destination in Turkey founded in the 3000s BC and with a unique history of 5000 years. The "Destination Image Scale" was benefited through the quantitative research technique in the study. Besides, open-ended questions were asked to determine the travel behavior of tourists. Based on the findings, it is evident that domestic tourists who come to Amasra primarily attach importance to "the sea, nature, and cultural structure". It was also found that tourists act according to their family and friends' advice the most as a source of information in their preference for Amasra. Also, the emotional states tourists feel throughout their destination visits have come to the forefront as "Peaceful, Happy, Good and Comfortable". While there is a significant difference in the level of participation of tourists in the dimension of the affective image in favor of women at the gender level, there is a significant difference in the dimension of the cognitive image in favor of those with higher education levels. Within the scope of the study, the elements that may come to the forefront in promoting the relevant region as a desirable travel destination have been disclosed. As a result, it is clear that the perceptions of domestic tourists visiting Amasra regarding the image of the destination are high.

The Internet has provided users with an environment where they can easily access unlimited data a... more The Internet has provided users with an environment where they can easily access unlimited data and information regardless of place and time. However, especially with the spread of social media channels, algorithmic filtering factors and the tendency of users to interact with other users with similar characteristics have narrowed the limit of the content consumed by a user. This leads to a vicious cycle in which users on social media only consume content that has similar characteristics to their own beliefs and opinions. This study examines the effects of users’ social media usage practices on ideological and political polarization in social media channels, regardless of the filtering factors of algorithms. In the study, 770 participants were determined by a simple random sampling method and the survey questions were delivered to the participants via online tools. According to the results of the research, it has been revealed that the majority of the participants do not follow users with different ideological and political views on social media and do not interact with these users. In addition, it was observed that the majority of the participants do not follow journalists and political leaders with opposing ideological and political views and do not interact with their posts. As a result, users, who are presented with content similar to their own ideological and political thoughts with the effect of filter bubbles, are also consciously blocking different opinions and voluntarily imprisoning themselves in echo chambers.

For this reason, legal regulations make it mandatory for drivers who use motor vehicles in traffic to wear seat belts. Sanctions are imposed on drivers who do not wear seat belts in traffic, and efforts are made to gain the habit of using seat belts. In addition, various public service announcements are prepared in order to raise awareness about the importance of using seat belts in traffic. The use of seat belts in traffic is sought to be encouraged through the visual and written indicators in these public service announcements. In this study, it was aimed to determine what kind of messages were given in the public service announcements prepared to encourage the use of seat belts in traffic. For this purpose, visual and written indicators in public service announcements prepared on the use of seat belts and traffic safety were analyzed through Louis Hjelmslev's Sign Model using the semiotic method in the context of traffic safety. The findings highlighted that messages in public service announcements were formed through the emphasis on death, injury and family. In the public service advertisements examined in this respect, it was concluded that people were encouraged to use seat belts in traffic by using emotional appeals such as fear appeal and sadness appeal.

The Soviet Union brought communist regimes to power in the socialist republics affiliated to it a... more The Soviet Union brought communist regimes to power in the socialist republics affiliated to it and spread communist propaganda to ensure that the people embraced these regimes. The Soviet administration used discourses that glorified the ideology of communism through the mass media it dominated, and in this way, it aimed for the peoples of the Soviet Union to embrace communism and implement the decisions taken by the regime without question. The Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) was also one of the Soviet socialist republics of the Soviet Union where communist propaganda was implemented. The Soviet Union made effective use of various mass media for propaganda in the ASSR. One type of mass media used was propaganda posters. Propaganda posters in this study directly reflect the features of Soviet Totalitarian Media Theory. For this reason, the examination of the posters containing the communist propaganda is important in terms of revealing the Soviet Union’s propaganda in the ASSR. Thus, this study aims to explain which messages the Soviet Union used in the communist propaganda in the ASSR through the visual and written indicators on the posters. For this purpose, the posters that include communist propaganda in the ASSR are analyzed using the semiotics method in the light of the semiotic concepts of the linguist Karl Bühler. How Soviet propaganda presented communist ideology in the ASSR and how it established a link between the Armenian people and communism are examined in the posters. In the light of the findings obtained in the study, it is revealed that the messages that communism played a leading role in the construction of contemporary and prosperous Armenia, and at the same time, that the Armenian people were loyal to the communist ideology are given in the posters. In this way, this study concludes that Soviet propaganda tried to legitimize the decisions taken by the communist regime in the ASSR in the Armenian public opinion.

During the war, both sides aimed to prevail against each other by using the intelligence information they obtained. Therefore, both sides sought to carry out their military operations in great secrecy. In this process, the US administration turned to the propaganda of hiding information through posters to encourage the concealment of information regarding the military operations to be carried out against the Axis-Powers. In the study, it was aimed to reveal how the USA used propaganda posters against the Axis Powers for the purpose of hiding information propaganda during the SWW. For this purpose, the visual and written indicators on the posters used for the USA's information hiding propaganda were analyzed in the context of John Langshaw Austin's Speech Act Theory. The seven propaganda posters identified using the purposive sampling method were obtained from the Stanford University Hoover Institute Library and Archives. In the study, it was sought to reveal what messages were given to the American people through the images on the posters, and in what direction the American people were intended to act. Considering findings, it was revealed that the fear appeal technique was used by reflecting the possible negative consequences of the leakage of intelligence information in the propaganda posters. Thus, it was concluded that the sharing of information about military operations was sought to be prevented by using the fear appeal technique on propaganda posters.

Kladderadatsch, the humor magazine, which acted as a propaganda tool of the German Empire in line... more Kladderadatsch, the humor magazine, which acted as a propaganda tool of the German Empire in line with the German national interests during the First World War, gave wide coverage to the struggle of the German Empire against the Entente Powers, and also humorously discussed the events during the Ottoman Empire’s attendance into the First World War. In this study, it was examined how the German humor magazine Kladderadatsch handled the Ottoman Empire’s attendance into the First World War. In this way, it was aimed to reveal the representation of the process of Ottoman Empire’s attendance into the war for the propaganda of the German Empire, specifically in the humor magazine. In this context, the cartoons related to the subject were analyzed semiotically through English linguist Geoffrey Leech’s the seven types of signification. Within the scope of the findings obtained in the study, it was revealed that the magazine tried to form a perception that the Ottoman Empire, which was defeated in the First Balkan War, became a powerful country by receiving the military support of the German Empire. On the other hand, it was concluded that the Ottoman Empire was presented as an important threat to the Entente Powers through the declaration of jihad and the possible Suez Campaign against England, and in this way, the message that the German Empire had a strong ally in the war was attempted to be given in the magazine.

In this period, French journal Je Suis Partout, which had an antisemitic view, which was closed shortly before the invasion of France by Nazi Germany, started to broadcast again after the establishment of Vichy France. The journal, which displayed a collaborative attitude with Nazi Germany, continued its publications until Allied States invaded France, and turned to harsh anti-Jewish rhetoric in its publications. The journal’s antisemitic rhetoric is important in that it reflects the antisemitic rhetoric of Nazi Germany in Vichy France. In the study, it was aimed to reveal the antisemitic discourses of the Je Suis Partout journal, which published in France during the Second World War. For this purpose, antisemitic caricatures published in the journal were examined using the semiotics method through Organon Model of German linguist Karl Bühler. In the findings obtained in the study, it was revealed that the journal tended to anti-Jewish discourses that USA, Soviet Union, England and Free French Army acted under the control of Jews. In this way, it was concluded that the journal tried to legitimize the struggle of Nazi Germany against Allied Powers and Free French Army.

The policies of Khrushchev, called Soviet Revisionism in the People's Republic of China (PRC) and... more The policies of Khrushchev, called Soviet Revisionism in the People's Republic of China (PRC) and considered as a betrayal of Marxism, led to the beginning of the period known as the Sino-Soviet Separation in the Cold War. During this period, the PRC embarked on propaganda against Soviet Revisionism and aimed to keep the Chinese people away from the ideas of Soviet Revisionism. In the propaganda process, the Chinese people were encouraged to read Marxist-Leninist based books and ideological deviation was tried to be prevented. In the ideologicalbased posters prepared in this period, the books were also highlighted for propaganda purposes. Objective: In this study, it was aimed to show how the ideological reflections of the period were used in books within the scope of propaganda. Method: In the study, how the books were presented for propaganda purposes in the posters prepared by the PRC against Soviet Revisionism and ideological deviation was examined through Jakobson's method of semiotics. Three of the six basic functions (emotive function, referential function and conative function) in Jakobson's communication model were used as semiotics method. Results: In the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that a general mobilization was initiated in Chinese society towards reading Marxist-Leninist books through posters and the perception that this mobilization was supported by the masses was highlighted. Originality: Studies on the subject in Turkey were limited. When the historical background of the study was examined, it was seen that the destalization process was initiated in the Soviet Union in the reign of Nikita Khrushchev, who came to the leadership of the country after the death of Joseph Stalin and it was tried that the relations between the Soviet Union and the USA continued on the basis of consensus in foreign policy. In all this process, the PRC, led by Mao Zedong, opposed the practices in the Soviet Union and serious ideological differences emerged between the two countries. In the study, books reflecting these ideological differences were the subject. Conclusion: Books played an important role in the ideological struggle of the PRC with the Soviet Union. It was revealed that the PRC used books to protect the Chinese people from Soviet Revisionism and encouraged the reading of publications on Marxist-Leninist ideology.

A state called as Government of National Salvation which was led by Germany in Serbia was founded and Serbian General Milan Nedić was appointed as prime minister. After Nedić became prime minister, Allied States and Jews began to be constructed as Serbia’s national enemies with propaganda activities. For this purpose, the Grand Anti-Masonic Exhibition was held in Belgrade between 22 October 1941 and 19 January 1942 during the Nedić government and hate speech was developed against both Allied States and Jews through materials in the exhibition. In the study, it was aimed to reveal how Allied States and Jews were constructed as enemies in the eyes of Serbs through materials in the Grand Anti-Masonic Exhibition. For this purpose, visuals determined within the scope of the study were analyzed in terms of semiotics and it was tried to reveal discourses used in enemy construction. As a result of the study, it is asserted that through the exhibition the message was given that the Allied States are under the control of the Jews and working for the Zionism. The study, in this context, claims that the perception of Jews are the enemies of the Serbs was tried to be constructed in the society.

In parallel with the increase in internet usage, people from different parts of the world can eas... more In parallel with the increase in internet usage, people from different parts of the world can easily convey their thoughts and feelings on social issues through social media. Millions of messages are written and read every day on various topics on a global scale through Twitter, which has an important place in these social media. While it is important to understand consumer behaviors in order to increase the competitiveness of firms, big data sources such as Twitter have multi-faceted the methods of analyzing behaviors. At the same time, developed countries allocate significant resources to data mining projects in order to have power. The use of Twitter and data mining as an alternative data source to identify trends in furniture choice has been proposed. The popular tweets with furniture using the Rapidminer and natural language processing software were gathered for ten months between May 2018 and February 2019, and natural language processing software enabled us to determine the mood of the tweets (positive and negative). Morphological analysis of the keywords in positive and negative tweets was then performed. Finally, meaningful information was obtained by utilizing the decision tree and association algorithms used in data mining. According to the decision tree algorithm, the most dominant words in the formation of positive or negative emotions were the challenge, campaign, discover and idea. As a result of the syntax of association, the most positive emotions were made with the order of words that awaken the emotions, and the opportunity was found as wood. In the same algorithm, the words that awaken the most negative emotions were listed as gloom, seedy, uncomfortable and fabric.

In this period, which is also called the communication age, the prominent areas are the new media environments. New media environments create digital environments that provide two-way interaction with different content that is diversified from multiple channels at the same time. In the new media, social media consists of interactive digital media, where people have the right to talk and share their knowledge and personal opinions. Thus, social media, which emerged as a new type of communication, has become the fastest growing area in world history.
Social media, which is a new type of communication, has become the fastest growing sharing area in world history. The aim of this study is to determine the social media usage and interactions of university students. The sample of the study consisted of 302 students studying at Bartin University. Social Media Scale prepared by Kocak (2012) was used for the data collection. In order to determine the reliability and specificity of the items in each sub-dimension of the scale, the total correlation values of the items and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were taken into consideration. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with SPSS 22 package program. As a result of this research, it was found that the participant university students used mostly Instagram as social media platform. It was observed that the most frequent activities of the students on social media were listening to music, looking at photos and watching videos. In addition, it was determined that male students were more likely to use social media for social interaction than female students.

Within the context of the study; emotional intelligence level of the students, studying at Bartın University-Department of Public Relations and Publicity and assigned as sample group, was determined via Bar-On Emotional İntelligence Scale and communication skills, via Korkut Communication Skills Evaluation Scale, in second academic session. The same practice was performed on them in fourth academic session after giving a course on emotional intelligence and effective communication. With this application performed on that note, whether the efficacy of the emotional intelligence and communication skills of students had changed or not was put to paired student t-test analysis with the help of SPSS programme. As a result of analyzes, it was confirmed that the common emotional intelligence of the students had increased significantly but there hadn't been noticeable difference in communication skills.

Police, whose task is to provide security guarding services following the rules of legal system i... more Police, whose task is to provide security guarding services following the rules of legal system in order to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals and to maintain stability in social life, seemingly needs the support of community to great extent because of job requirements and have a positive image in the public eye. In this regard, the aim of this study is to measure police image in the eye of public on the basis of conditions in which there is active public-police interaction. To this aim, through descriptive design within quantitative paradigm, a likert-scale, which covers 42 items in total, was applied to 600 people living in Erzurum, randomly selected according to demographic variation. The results of the study, in which the threshold level required to be exceeded for positive image was 3,41 (68%), showed that general police image perceived in Erzurum was 3.75 (75%). On this basis, it is apparently assumed that people's impression of police in Erzurum is very positive.

This study aims to examine the potential benefits of AI-enabled media tools and the accompanying ethical responsibilities.
Overcoming ethical challenges in the use of AI in media requires adherence to fundamental ethical principles such as transparency, accountability, privacy, human control, and diversity. Ensuring that the decision-making processes of AI systems are clear and understandable, working to identify and mitigate algorithmic biases, ensuring human oversight and intervention, and observing the principles of diversity and inclusion will be important steps for the ethical and responsible use of AI. As a result, guiding AI applications in the media sector within an ethical framework is of great importance for both the future of the sector and its effects on society.

Travel agencies hold a key position in the travel industry, being responsible for organizing clie... more Travel agencies hold a key position in the travel industry, being responsible for organizing clients' holiday plans, arranging flights and accommodations, offering tour packages, and providing various travel services. They generally offer services to their customers in areas such as conducting public relations activities, making reservations, providing destination information and travel insurance. Travel agencies operate in work environments where they must interact with people speaking different languages and coming from different cultures. This necessitates travel agency employees to enhance their communication skills and overcome various communication barriers.
The aim of this study was to identify the communication barriers that travel agency employees face in order to improve their communication skills. Ankara Province, a location with a high concentration of travel agencies, was chosen as the sample for the study. The research adopted a quantitative research method, and data were collected through face-to-face surveys. Data analysis conducted using the SPSS statistical package program revealed that the participation levels of travel agency employees in linguistic and behavioral dimensions of communication barriers were statistically significant based on their educational backgrounds. Furthermore, according to the results of independent sample t-tests, the participation levels of employees in the perceptual communication barrier dimension were found to be statistically significant based on their marital statuses. The research findings indicate that travel agency employees generally possess intermediate levels of communication barriers, and it has been observed that public relations and communication activities play a significant role in this sector. ***
Seyahat acenteleri, seyahat endüstrisinde kilit bir konuma sahiptir. Müşterilerin tatil planlarını organize etmek, uçuş ve konaklamalarını düzenlemek, onlara tur paketleri sunmak ve çeşitli seyahat hizmetlerini sağlamakla sorumludur. Genellikle halkla ilişkiler faaliyetleri yürütme, rezervasyon yapma, destinasyon bilgisi sağlama ve seyahat sigortası gibi alanlarda müşterilerine hizmet sunmaktadır. Seyahat acenteleri, farklı dilleri konuşan ve farklı kültürlerden gelen insanlarla etkileşim kurmak zorunda olan iş ortamlarıdır. Bu durum, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim becerilerini geliştirmelerini ve çeşitli iletişim engellerini aşmalarını gerektirmektedir.
Yapılan çalışmada seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim becerilerini geliştirebilmeleri için öncelikle iletişimsel eksikliklerinin tespit edilmesine yönelik hangi iletişim engellerine sahip olduklarının belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada örneklem belirlenirken seyahat acentelerinin yoğun olduğu bir yer olan Ankara İli tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş ve araştırmanın verileri yüz yüze anket yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. SPSS istatistik paket programı kullanılarak yapılan veri analizi, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim engellerinin dilsel ve davranışsal boyutlara katılım düzeylerinin eğitim durumlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca, bağımsız örneklem t-testi sonuçlarına göre, çalışanların algısal iletişim engeli boyutuna katılım düzeylerinin medeni durumlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının genellikle orta düzeyde iletişim engellerine sahip oldukları belirlenmiş ve bu sektörde halkla ilişkiler ve iletişim faaliyetlerinin önemli bir rol oynadığı görülmüştür.

Open and supportive communication environments enable employees to express themselves, share ideas, and foster happiness and motivation within the workplace. In the context of hospitality businesses, employees are in constant communication with guests and fellow colleagues. Thus, possessing effective communication skills is crucial for the success of employees in the hospitality industry. Developing these skills contributes to enhanced guest satisfaction, increased operational efficiency, and reduced workplace stress. In this regard, a research study was conducted to assess the communication skills of individuals employed in accommodation establishments in the Bartın province.
The study adopted a quantitative research approach, collecting data through face-to-face surveys and analyzing it using the SPSS statistical package. İletişim, işletmelerin kültürünü oluşturmaktadır. Açık ve destekleyici iletişim ortamları, çalışanların kendilerini ifade etmelerini, fikirlerini paylaşmalarını ve işletmelerde daha mutlu ve motive olmalarını sağlamaktadır. Konaklama işletmelerinde çalışanlar, misafirlerle ve diğer çalışanlarla sürekli iletişim halinde olmaktadır. Etkili iletişim becerilerine sahip olmak, konaklama işletmesi çalışanlarının işlerinin başarısı için önem arz etmektedir. Bu becerilerin geliştirilmesi, misafir memnuniyetinin artmasına, işletme verimliliğinin yükselmesine ve işyerinde daha az stres yaşanmasına katkıda bulunacaktır. Bu kapsamda yapılan araştırmada Bartın ilinde faaliyet gösteren konaklama işletmelerinde çalışan bireylerin iletişim becerilerini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır.
Araştırma da nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş ve araştırmanın verileri yüz yüze anket yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi SPSS istatistik paket programı ile yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda yapılan varyans analizi sonucunda konaklama işletmesinde çalışanlarının iletişim becerilerine katılım düzeylerinin yaş ve gelir seviyelerine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, konaklama işletmelerinde çalışanların iletişim becerilerini geliştirmek için yaş ve gelir seviyelerine göre özelleştirilmiş eğitim ve stratejiler geliştirilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır.

Social media, which is a new type of communication, has become the fastest growing sharing area in world history. The aim of this study is to determine the social media usage and interactions of university students. The sample of the study consisted of 302 students studying at Bartin University. Social Media Scale prepared by Kocak (2012) was used for the data collection. In order to determine the reliability and specificity of the items in each sub-dimension of the scale, the total correlation values of the items and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients were taken into consideration. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with SPSS 22 package program. As a result of this research, it was found that the participant university students used mostly Instagram as social media platform. It was observed that the most frequent activities of the students on social media were listening to music, looking at photos and watching videos. In addition, it was determined that male students were more likely to use social media for social interaction than female students.

Overcoming ethical challenges in the use of AI in media requires adherence to fundamental ethical principles such as transparency, accountability, privacy, human control, and diversity. Ensuring that the decision-making processes of AI systems are clear and understandable, working to identify and mitigate algorithmic biases, ensuring human oversight and intervention, and observing the principles of diversity and inclusion will be important steps for the ethical and responsible use of AI. As a result, guiding AI applications in the media sector within an ethical framework is of great importance for both the future of the sector and its effects on society.
The aim of this study was to identify the communication barriers that travel agency employees face in order to improve their communication skills. Ankara Province, a location with a high concentration of travel agencies, was chosen as the sample for the study. The research adopted a quantitative research method, and data were collected through face-to-face surveys. Data analysis conducted using the SPSS statistical package program revealed that the participation levels of travel agency employees in linguistic and behavioral dimensions of communication barriers were statistically significant based on their educational backgrounds. Furthermore, according to the results of independent sample t-tests, the participation levels of employees in the perceptual communication barrier dimension were found to be statistically significant based on their marital statuses. The research findings indicate that travel agency employees generally possess intermediate levels of communication barriers, and it has been observed that public relations and communication activities play a significant role in this sector. ***

Müşterilerin tatil planlarını organize etmek, uçuş ve konaklamalarını düzenlemek, onlara tur paketleri sunmak ve çeşitli seyahat hizmetlerini sağlamakla sorumludur. Genellikle halkla ilişkiler faaliyetleri yürütme, rezervasyon yapma, destinasyon bilgisi sağlama ve seyahat sigortası gibi alanlarda müşterilerine hizmet sunmaktadır. Seyahat acenteleri, farklı dilleri konuşan ve farklı kültürlerden gelen insanlarla etkileşim kurmak zorunda olan iş ortamlarıdır. Bu durum, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim becerilerini geliştirmelerini ve çeşitli iletişim engellerini aşmalarını gerektirmektedir.
Yapılan çalışmada seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim becerilerini geliştirebilmeleri için öncelikle iletişimsel eksikliklerinin tespit edilmesine yönelik hangi iletişim engellerine sahip olduklarının belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada örneklem belirlenirken seyahat acentelerinin yoğun olduğu bir yer olan Ankara İli tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş ve araştırmanın verileri yüz yüze anket yöntemi ile toplanmıştır. SPSS istatistik paket programı kullanılarak yapılan veri analizi, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının iletişim engellerinin dilsel ve davranışsal boyutlara katılım düzeylerinin eğitim durumlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca, bağımsız örneklem t-testi sonuçlarına göre, çalışanların algısal iletişim engeli boyutuna katılım düzeylerinin medeni durumlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, seyahat acentesi çalışanlarının genellikle orta düzeyde iletişim engellerine sahip oldukları belirlenmiş ve bu sektörde halkla ilişkiler ve iletişim faaliyetlerinin önemli bir rol oynadığı görülmüştür.

In the study “Interpersonal Communication Barriers Scale” was used and interpersonal communication barriers were tried to be determined in accordance with the disruptions that cause communication conflicts. The data obtained from 383 students studying at Bartın University were analyzed and analyzed with the help of the SPSS program. As a result, it was found that students rarely experienced interpersonal communication disability. When the communication barriers were examined, it was observed that most of the problems were perceptual.

Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular kapsamında dergide Birinci Balkan Savaşı’ndan yenilgiyle çıkan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun Alman İmparatorluğu’nun askeri desteğini alarak güçlü bir ülke haline geldiğine yönelik algı oluşturulmaya çalışıldığı ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Diğer yandan dergide cihat ilanı ve İngiltere’ye karşı olası Süveyş Harekâtı üzerinden Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun İtilaf Devletleri’ne karşı önemli bir tehdit olarak sunulduğu, bu şekilde Alman İmparatorluğu’nun savaşta güçlü bir müttefike sahip olduğuna yönelik mesajın verilmeye çalışıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
