Peter A ONWUALU

I hold a BSc, MSc. and PhD in Agricultural Engineering. I started my academic career as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1983 and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1999. Over the years I have worked in the following areas: Agricultural Machinery and Mechanization, Agro-processing technologies and post harvest systems, biomass valorization, biofuels, technology policy and innovation. I have held several positions including head of the department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2000-2003), Director, Engineering Infrastructure, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, Abuja (2003-2005), Director General/CEO, Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Abuja (2005-2013), Head, Materials Science and Engineering and Director, Academic Planning, African University of Science and Technology, Abuja (2016-2022). I am currently, President of African University of Science and Technology, Abuja. I am a Fellow and immediate past President, Nigerian Academy of Engineering and also Fellow of a number of professional societies including: Nigerian Academy of Science, Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigerian Institute of Management.
