Don’t use Hometime to manage your unit.

We own a unit in Alexandra Headlands. As we wanted to stay at our own unit occasionally, we thought renting it out through AiirBnB was a good choice. We signed up with Hometime. They promised a great deal. We were more interested in their algorithm. They do not have any algorithm, They simply put an average rental for each and every day. They never adjusted their rent. For eg, there was a large surf event in Alex Beach, all the hotels were fully booked with the average rental around 750$/night. Our unit still showed 159$/night. ( other units in the same building went for 750/night.)
At the end of one year, the only people who made money from our unit were Hometime and their local host. We, the owners of the unit earned very little income. We actually earned more with our previous hosting company and that too during the Covid lockdowns!!
The local host Hometime chose to clean and manage our unit received two bad reviews ( for their appalling cleaning service), and neither Hometime nor the local co-host knew that AirBNB temporarily suspended our account. We had to tell them. Hometime was meant to place our unit on booking.com. It took them one year to do so and was only done after countless emails.
If you want someone else to make all the money from your unit, choose Hometime.

We moved to Lethbridge in 2023 from…

We moved to Lethbridge in 2023 from Vancouver Island and rented a beautiful home through Hometime Rentals and specifically Jason.
We had absolutely no issues with anything. The home was extremely clean and well-maintained when we moved in and Jason even came back later in the day to change the lock code.
Anytime we needed a question answered Jason was available with a response for us.
We did have to move to a different city recently and yes we had to clean the house and have the carpets shampooed professionally but that's just a reasonable thing to do.
I would recommend anyone looking for a place to call home to contact Hometime.

A truly terrible service

A truly terrible service. Had a good first year and it just got worse and worse after that. Beyond organising cleaners consistently, it's hard to see what (if anything) they actually did. The pricing algorithm they showed off about was just from PriceLabs (available to anyone), but not once in 3 years did they proactively monitor it and adjust for actual occupancy unless I prompted them, despite repeated requests to do so.

The cleaners they arranged were timely but consistently did a terrible job, despite this being mentioned regularly in the reviews. Couldn't recommend less.

I have nothing but praise for James and…

I have nothing but praise for James and his team at Hometime since joining them last year. I live overseas for much of the year so needed to feel completely confident that my apartment would be managed in the best possible way.
The process from the start has exceeded my expectations! James and his team are always very quick to respond to any queries I may have and to take appropriate action when required to ensure the absolute best outcome for the smooth running of the apartment and to optimise its success. Very pleased that it has now achieved a top rating! I am extremely satisfied with my bookings and pleasantly surprised by the number of longs stays.

Appalling hosts who lied 3 times

Appalling hosts who lied 3 times. Left a poor review saying ‘they were on edge’ the whole time during our stay yet agreed to our extended stay requests which certainly doesn’t line up with their feedback. The home lacked cleaning equipment for guests, they wouldn’t provide more than 3 toilet rolls for over a week stay and then the ugly/unjust attitude started post stay after we left personal belongings there. There’s no lost and found process in play rather they deny items are there and then admit days later they tossed them out. A nasty host who needs some training.

I will make sure we look into the cleaning equipment and consumables supply as our properties are usually set up with enough, however it is important to note that Airbnbs are not like hotels and don't have things like daily housekeeping services. I can see the team asked the cleaners (who were not our usual ones due to a serious emergency elsewhere) about your gels left behind in the fridge and double checked for you. They did their best to establish what had happened and they apologised for not being able to locate them. It looks like our host took the time to visit the linen depot and to find your son's soft toys that had been left behind in the bed and posted them back to you to be reunited. I do understand your frustration at leaving something behind that was important to you and I'm sorry it was so stressful for you. I do think some of the communication could have been improved and we'll discuss it with them to see what we can learn from. Definitely will stay here again!

Jessica was an amazing host! The house was extremely clean, walking distance to the shops and cafes for a nice coffee and breakfast! All the wineries and the vest Pizza restaurant in adelaide is 5 minutes from the property. Beds are very comfortable and all ammenities are provided in the property. Luxury stay, good neighbourhood, barber accross the road for those who forget ti get a haircut before travelling! Definitely recommend you stay there!

Neat, clean & tidy house in great location

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property in Glenelg. The house was clean, neat & tidy. The kitchen cooktop & oven were wonderful. My parents appreciated the ensuite in the master bedroom.
We were close to the beach, shops, restaurants & the city.
Communication leading up & during our stay was thorough.

Absolutely loved this Airbnb

Absolutely loved this Airbnb! The location is fantastic, it’s within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, and Queen St Mall.
The apartment is stylish, comfortable and very clean.
The stand out for our family was the Infinity roof top pool. It was just beautiful!
Definitely our new favourite spot for our Brisbane trips.

Relaxed yet beautifully done

Ben was quick to respond, honest and really clear with information and expectations.
The destination itself is great! Bogangar is a little quieter than some other areas nearby, which suited us, and the ammenities were gorgeous but also LOW FUSS, which is what we wanted for a coastal holiday. Thanks so much.

The perfect city break

Beautifully furnished, perfectly located, the property we stayed in was exceptional. Within walking distance of major sights, restaurants and cafes and in fact had a fantastic cafe in the ground floor. It was a perfect city break experience.
One thing to note. The gym and pool were closed for refurbishment. We didn’t plan to use them so didn’t effect our stay.
To end on a positive note, this was a place you could really spend time in. A luxury home from home.

Lovely Chalet in Rye

We loved our stay at this property. So much to explore and enjoy with different zones inside and outside. Spotless and comfortable. Lovely view. Sam was a great host, responsive and helpful. Would recommend this property for a peaceful relaxing stay, not far from all beaches and ammenities.

Good value service with friendly and efficient staff

Lina and the Hometime team are great to manage our property. We are informed as soon as property is rented with great dashboard to keep us informed that allows us to see costs going out and money expected to come in. Maintenance issues taken care of quickly at reasonable rates and no major issues with renters so far. Very happy with service and returns.

Amazing place in Richmond, Victoria.

What an amazing experience. We have stayed in this place in Richmond before and would recommend it to everyone. It is around the corner from Swan Street where there is an endless choice of cafes and restaurants. The house was spotless and the amenities were fantastic. The host was very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend it!

Since the last review

Since the last review, there have been some issues for Annie to deal with, namely changeover to 3 phase power in the apartment block, installation of a new water system and internet outages and she has been most helpful and prompt in her attentions.
I would still wish to see the star rating for our apartment lifted but as it is nearly fully booked it seems potential guests do not mind so much....maybe.

Living the good life at Captain’s Lookout!

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the well appointed Captain's Lookout Penthouse in Cullen Bay, Darwin. Our apartment was clean, fresh, attractively decorated & contained quality furnishings that were well presented.
The kitchen was equipped with quality products & it was great to have a spacious refrigerator!
Our master bedroom boasted a most comfortable queen bed & there was plenty of hanging space for clothing.
We used one of the secure underground car parking spaces & the shared large pool was most refreshing.
At all times, Lina's communication with me was prompt & pleasant. Her detailed information re checking in & out was most helpful.
The sunset & daytime views of Mindil Beach from the balcony were superb!
A fabulous getaway!

Great little hideaway

The apartment was comfortable and spacious enough for my partner and I. We found the amenities to suit our needs and though the bathroom fan and bedroom air conditioner unit worked intermittently it was something that could be fixed with an open window. The photos matches the apartment and pool. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location and spotlessly clean

Amazing location and spotlessly clean. We loved or stay here. Beds were comfortable, everything was as described, place was well decorated and located within walking distance of shops and cafes not to mention across the road from the beach.

Great communication by Belinda and her…

Great communication by Belinda and her team both before, during and after our stay.

Unit was clean and well presented and had everything we needed for our stay. Location is reasonable, about 25 minutes walk to Surfers or Broadbeach central. 5 minute walk around the corner to the tram and 10 minutes to local deli and cafe.

alfresco dreamscapes cairns

Stayed at the beautiful alfresco dreamscape in cairns for a weeks work trip. Our host cliff was great, communication was perfect and the home was just as described.
Was a wonderful wind down each night after a busy work day. The outdoor area was huge with great views and the spa was wonderful.

Good strategies for solid returns

I've recently started with Hometime and in the past few months have found the strategies of bookings to be generally well managed. I am happy to put my trust in James and team to ensure good guests are staying at the house and for the dynamic systems to work with the ebbs and flows of seasonal demands.
