Cross pattern movements are total body in nature but require each side or half of the body to perform antagonistic actions in order to achieve an outcome.   These are movements common in day to day life and athletics  that aren’t commonly trained in a gym setting.   Before we enhance our strongest patterns, we must make our most vulnerable and commonly used patterns more robust.   Otherwise we put a bigger engine in a car with a weak frame.
