An empty cardboard egg carton 2. Scissors 3. Jute twine or ribbon for the hanger 4. Hot glue gun or strong craft glue 5. Optional: Paint •Cut the top flat part off your egg carton. •Cut the individual cup sections out of the egg carton. Each cup will form 2 points of the star. •Trim the edges of each cup into triangular shapes to resemble star points. You’ll need 5 triangular pieces for a 5-point star. •Arrange the trimmed egg carton pieces into a star shape. We turn oak and maple leaves into ghosts every year by painting them but thought it’d be fun to try something new this time around—I’ve see these make their rounds the past couple of years and I’m excited to finally try them! Using a PVA glue (like plain school glue) allows them to peel off the leaf easily and looks like a window cling. I cut ovals out of black cardstock for the eyes and mouth but you can also draw them on using a paint pen or marker after they have dried. Some tips: Use fresh leaves so that they stay pliable as the glue dries. Aim for a thin but even layer. You want the glue to be just thick enough so that the layer peels off without breaking. I shared it on my stories on Friday and so many of you had kind words, so I decided to post it as a real so that it would be more savable and shareable.
