Hannah Briggs on Instagram: "HOW WE BUILT IN ALCOVE UNITS ✨💞 What do you think?! 👇🏻 Obsessed with how these turned out one year on! 🤭 We still want to add LED lighting on the shelves to make it more into a media wall but in pretty pleased with it! We basically bought two IKEA sideboards from the IDANAS range, along with some MDF board and furniture board that we had cut down at B&Q for an easier fit! We then sanded, primed and painted 🎨 before nail gunning in. Little hack 💡 take a piece of the sideboard with you such as the cupboard door, and get B&Q to paint match it for you. Trust me, it’s worth doing!! Fitting the light into your alcove shelves it's always a brilliant idea! By adding light into the bookshelves you transform your living room and creating a cozy atmosphere which can boost your mood.

Katie | Home & lifestyle creator on Instagram: "Alcove cabinet Q&A 🌿 Today I’m answering one of my most commonly asked questions - how did you make your alcove cabinets? This is by far my favourite part of the living room and has really helped us to create a modern country space. Our fab joiner made and fitted these for us and they’re made entirely from MDF. Here’s how it was done; The cabinet carcasses were assembled elsewhere and then fitted. We added pine moulding from @bandq_uk to the doors and some simple black handles from @amazonuk. To keep costs down but retain a premium look, the cabinet tops and shelves were made from two 18mm sheets of MDF joined together. It’s very difficult to see the join once they’re sanded, primed and painted.
