Wishing You a Happy Easter

The temps went down to freezing last night.  I checked on my daffodils and
tulips and they seemed to withstand the cold.  The plum trees all over town
are blooming and they are such a welcoming sight proving to us that
spring has arrived despite the crazy weather.

This pair of vintage lamb salt and pepper shakers have been in my
cottage for several years now.  They are chippy and worn, but I fell in
love with them.  I still recall the day I bought them at a little antique
shop in my neighborhood.  I remember the look on the dealer's face
when I bought them, as if to say "why would she want those?"

I have not decided on what to serve for Easter dinner.  Should I
roast a leg of lamb or should we have ham this year?  I saw some lovely
racks of lamb at the butcher counter yesterday.  Asparagus is always on
the Easter menu regardless of what else I serve.  Some tiny rolls with
a compounded butter mixed with fine herbs would be nice.  I better
make my decision today so that I can get my shopping done.

I am off to my Mom's house this morning to oversee the latest installment
of her kitchen remodel.  I have the carpenters scheduled to start the trim work.
We are beefing up the crown molding in the dining room too.  It will be a
busy day.

Bentley and I wish you and yours a Blessed Easter.  We will be spending
time with family and will see you all next week.

Until then we are joining ~

and

Bentley ~ let's head over to grandma's house and watch the saw dust fly!

A Bunny Breakfast Tray

Bunnies abound in the spring and I love them.  I also seem to be
focused on breakfast trays these days.  Remember my Rise and Shine
Breakfast Tray from a recent post?

Maybe I am hoping that someone will serve me breakfast in bed (hint, hint).
So I was inspired to create a bunny tray for a happy breakfast to get you
hopping out of bed.  I used a floppy eared bunny bookmark to keep the
vintage silver in place.

I love this pale blue hobnail glass.  I found it for pennies at a garage sale a
few years ago.  I am glad that someone decided to give it up because
it has become a treasure in my cottage.  It will make a great vase for the
lily of the valley popping up in my Mom's garden too.

Here is Mrs. Rabbit rocking her babies.

Stay tuned for more spring decorating.  You never know where more
bunnies will be turning up.

Hopping over to visit ~

and

Bentley does not want any bunnies in his yard.  He chases them just
like he chases squirrels and cats.  So all of the bunnies around here
are just for show.

Tools of the Spring Trade

A couple of weeks ago I found this adorable vintage tool box.  I don't
think that there is a vintage wood tool box that I don't like.  So, of course
this one just had to come home with me because I knew I could find so
many ways to use it.

I could not wait to fill it with bunnies and chicks and Easter eggs for a
spring centerpiece.

After Easter has passed, I think I will fill it with little pots of
herbs and flowers and put it on the front porch.

Or ... maybe the back porch.

and

This vintage tool box would work for some of your dog toys
too Bentley.  Your toys are scattered in every room of the house!
Now if I could just teach you to put them away.

Bunny Pocket Pillow

I made a pocket pillow in pink and green.  Happy spring colors.

It's perfect for stashing some favorite items like an Easter bunny and
a copy of The Velveteen Rabbit.

Easter is just a couple of weeks away.
I better get hopping!

On my way to visit Beverly for

I should make a pocket pillow for you Bentley.
You could stash your favorite bone there!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
