ABSTRACT Infrared spectroscopy is one of the most frequent method used for identi'cation ... more ABSTRACT Infrared spectroscopy is one of the most frequent method used for identi'cation of various materials. .is method was used in this study for characterisation of postmortal degradation of skeletal residues. An essential importance for preservation or degradation of bone tissue have the qualities of surrounding soil – mainly pH level and humidity. In acidic surroundings the mineral composition of bone – hydroxyapatite Ca5(PO4)3OH is gradually melt, which can 'nally eventuate in decalci'cation of bone tissue. Another result of the acidic environment is recrystalization of hydroxyapatite into the other mineral called brushit (CaHPO4 . 2 H2O). Brushit occurence was approved in bones of Dietrichstein family members, who were buried in a family crypt in Mikulov. A speci'c factor in.uencing degradation of bones is high temperature. FTIR spectroscopy can be used to dif- ferentiate between burnt or unburnt bones and thanks to this method the temperature of cremation and the burning conditions can be successfully estimated. Bone residues coming from the necropolis in Príbor (the Bronz Age, the Iron Age) and also animal residues from Chotebuz-Podo- bora were analysed.
This study summarizes the current state of archaeological knowledge of Slavic settlement in the s... more This study summarizes the current state of archaeological knowledge of Slavic settlement in the so-called Czech Silesia that is currently regarded as the southern part of the historical Upper Silesia located mostly in the territory of today’s Poland. It is in this region that the Slavic tribe of the Golensizi mentioned by the so-called Bavarian Geographer is generally agreed to have settled. The study focuses on the period between the 8th and 10th/11th centuries as older records of Slavic presence are now known yet. It is not only based on results of previous research, but also brings in new findings. Three basic settlement components are monitored: strongholds, burial grounds and open settlements, which together make up an interconnected structure. Attention is paid mainly to localities where a long-term archaeological research was carried out and that provided us with material of good informative value. The aim of this study is to offer a historical interpretation of events that happened in the region during the aforementioned period.

Obr. 3 Stavenice -geofyzikální měření a jeho interpretace Pavel Kouřil, Jana Gryc někdy v prvních... more Obr. 3 Stavenice -geofyzikální měření a jeho interpretace Pavel Kouřil, Jana Gryc někdy v prvních desetiletích 10. století a snad ještě v témže věku anebo v počátcích 11. století přestalo být funkční; je možné, že v téže době byl osídlen i prostor těsně za hradbami, terénní konfigurace je zde z tohoto pohledu příznivá, s čímž koresponduje i nedávný nález (2010) neúplné bronzové záušnice malého průměru (obr. 7: 4), vyzvednuté v nevelké vzdálenosti od severního úseku valu. Osídlení poté kontinuálně nepokračovalo (alespoň ne v areálu vlastního hradu), nejmladší nálezy z vyspělého 13. věku mohou (ale také nemusí) být odrazem sídelních aktivit až dlouho po ztrátě funkce hradiska. Na okraj jen podotkněme, že úvaha, že by se eventuálně mohlo jednat o hradisko lužické kultury popelnicových polí, druhotně Slovany využité, se dosud nepotvrdila (Nekvasil 1982, 325). Avizované geofyzikální měření naznačilo poměrně intenzivní vnitřní zástavbu. Plocha hradiska i navazující zázemí je však tak vydrancováno nelegální činností majitelů detektorů kovů, že již došlo k nevratnému poškození archeologických situací a také pokus o záchranu případných zbývajících kovových předmětů vyzněl naprázdno.

The monograph presents the earliest medieval phase of hilfort, the appearance of the rezidence the seat of the duchy of Teschen and lates day related to the destruktion of the castle.
