The theme day: a sign "No...": No stepping forward

The theme day: a sign
It is very very long time no writing and updating because I was busy a little bit....

As the same picture as the post in Nov., 2006, , this is put in a garden and shows "keep away". Just putting on the tiny stone on a stepping stone is the modest way to urge people to do so.

What a polite way of saying "no." Beautiful photo!

Happy Theme Day!

It reminded me of a famous brazilian poem by Carlos Drummond de Andrade.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

In the middle of the road there was a stone
there was a stone in the middle of the road
there was a stone
in the middle of the road there was a stone.

Never should I forget this event
in the life of my fatigued retinas.
Never should I forget that in the middle of the road
there was a stone
there was a stone in the middle of the road
in the middle of the road there was a stone.

(Translated by Elizabeth Bishop)

Good photo!

It's very japanese! A great phylosophical NO sign. Excellent choice of NO theme.

What a fantastic post! Wonderful choice for the theme because it gives us an insight into Japanese culture - how delightfully polite and restrained the message is.

It is very nice way to show such a thing. No agree sign but nice gesture.

This is so much more elegant than those big, red "no" signs. If only more people were as sensitive and courteous, we wouldn't even need most of those signs.

Very, very nice photo. It has a very gentle feel to it.

Although if I was there, I would probably be oblivious to its meaning.

Very interesting symbol for "no."
Thanks for sharing that fact.
