This graphic outlines key methods used in spatial arrangement—from repetitive spaces and centralized distributions to the use of symmetry and reference axes. Each technique reflects different functional, aesthetic, and contextual considerations, guiding how individuals move through and interact with spaces. Understanding these principles helps architects create cohesive environments that balance form and function. Grid: Equally spaced, perpendicular streets. Need not consist of straight lines. Simplifies subdivision of land for agricultural and urban use. Well suited to level ground, but can be adapted to sloping ground. Radial: Directs flow from a common center. Beltways allow through traffic to bypass the center to alleviate congestion. Linear: Useful where development is restricted by natural topography (narrow valley) or parallels with existing transportation artery (railroad, freeway). Pablo Luna Studio on Instagram: "The conceptual design phase is the first phase of architectural design, in which we work on the master plan of the project, the conceptual design of the building, the conceptual form of the building, the floor plans and the materiality. This is the most exciting phase, where you will get a first impression of the form, inspiration and spatial organization of the building."
