I sculpted it over 10 times before I was finally happy with it 😅 What made it so difficult was the labellum, aka the “slipper”. In my first prototypes I would try to mold it from one large ball of clay, but the shape never turned out quite right. Then I tried making it in two parts, which did the trick! You guessed it! I'm working on some variations of Phalaenopsis orchids and they will be available very soon. I mean very very soon! In the meantime, here's a group photo of my favorites from March. All miniature plant sculptures are unique and handmade by me from polymer clay using the cane technique to create very intricate patterns using only colored clay. They are not painted on. The plants are attached to custom-made wood shelves with magnets and can be used both as wall objects and as ...
