FRIENDS OF SPEEDY #

Those weekends come and go way to fast dont they!
The weather has cooled in our part of the world, it gorgeous,
the days are in the low 90s and nights in the 60s. I do not want
to go to work I want to garden and play outdoors, but alas no
work no roof so hi ho hi ho off to work I go!As you probably know
Monday means a new FOSTV Challenge and this week it is
using your favorite colors. Mine are greens and purples.

I have used  one
of the lotus images from the Lotus Blossom Set. After coloring
I cut out with a Spellbinder and foam dotted onto the embossed
lavender. The little side embellie was cut from a Spellbinder label
and a little flourish of jewels added. The butterfly was
cut with a Cherry Lynn die and Stickles added. The top layers were cut with
Spellbinder scallops and all was stitched on. All the dps used
were from SU pads. Hope you stop by and show us your
favorite colors. You have all week to join the fun.

Reunion LO

You might have seen other posts about how a group of us girls who
went to school and graduated together have been meeting up in Sedona for several years now.
Each time we have a little celebration on Saturday night, a nice dinner and
part of that includes a gift exchange. We all play the white elephant game and that brings on a lot of craziness as you can image when they dont want to part with their gift!
The first year I made an album with a page devoted to each girl. I used their favorite colors and did a theme depicting their job and or hobbies. I added lots of other goodies and pics of Sedona etc. It was such a hit that since then most of the gals have started making gifts which makes them all the more special. This year I made a recipe book, wooden spoons, oven mitt and this LO.
I didnt take a pic of the recipe book but thought I would share the LO
with you. I did in it browns with the idea that it would be pretty
neutral for whomever got it. The sepia looks red here in the pic but
in person it matches perfectly!I stitched on the brown after
distressing it then added some stenciling using paste and inks.
I made hands for the metal clock using embossing powder and
attached with a brad. The chipboard is a piece I received from
Erin Blegan so not sure who makes it. The fleur de lis are cut from
Spellbinder die. I also used the Spellbinder rolled flower die and  made two from paper and the larger one is made from some screening that I aged.
I like that its dark and blends in yet the see thru element keeps it from being too blob looking or at least in person its that way. The corner of the pic shows my sweet beautiful red headed friend Judy. The pocket watch is from one of MFP a Heinrich Co. the Take Time Set and the piece peaking out of the bottom pic is a stamped with the Pocket Watch Set then torn and stuck under the pic.I added glossy accents to the pocket watch to make it look a little more real. The corner needed something and the webbed ribbon seems to fit the bill. I also used some musical dp under the top pic. All the edges were distressed. This sentiment from the Take Time  Set was totally perfect for this LO. We have been friends from early childhood till now, sixty years, pretty special  dont you think!

This year we all wore long skirts and hats and were going to take  pics in the creek but due to all the rains it was raging and way to dangerous to try to get in so we did lots of pics around the property including this one in the tree.

Happy Friday, I hope you have checked out all the tutorials and the ladies Fabulous creations!
If not be sure to stop by for all the tips and ideas. You may be one of the lucky winner! For my table setting I started with the beautiful images from the new Fall Apples Set.
After coloring them I cut them all out to adhere to my napkin holders and place cards. Using some SU Red for the base I matted some scrap striped dp to the cream and stitched them all together. As you will see the tutorial shows to attach ribbons and tie them together.
I really like the idea because I can untie them and store them flat to be used again. The place cards were made same papers and stitching and a little fishtail tab to put the name onto. Im going to used the place cards for a get together so I pop dotted the names on and can take them off after ward to possibly be used for Thanksgiving.
Today is also TTSTV Challenge. Out tutorial brought to us by Pam Stang is Faux Silk. Made using tissue paper. I was not able to capture the silk texture in my photos but it really is a very nice look. You can hop over to HERE to find the tutorial,
easy and quick to do with great results. My card was made with SU papers and the SU basket weave embossing folder. The image is from the Pussy Willows Set and cut with a Spellbinder scalloped oval and pop dotted on.The flourish is a MFT die. Plenty of stitching and a little button for embellie.

Spellbinder. It is mounted on a dry embossed base with some striped
dp stitched on. Sentiment popped up.

The second one is the high light one using the Dogwood image on black and
cut with a Spellbinder. The bottom was dry embossed and the checked part stitched
on. A sheer bow and pretty paper butterfly for a little bit of embellishment.I
love how this technique turned out.

Be sure to stop on over and check out the tutorial and all my talented teamies creations!

business and is uber talented. She made  fabulous headdresses for each of us.
We wore them to our dinner and to the luncheon  in Jerome on Sunday.
Thought I would share  pics with you all. Everyone was wanting to know what
we celebrating and where we got the hatsThese were'nt actually hats they
were headdresses  made on head bands. The pics dont really do them justice.

Tutorial Time With Speedy TV #

Happy Friday, today its my turn to do TUTORIAL TIME  tutorial. Ive done a dimensional shoe.
Warning there are a lot of photos in this post! I have scheduled this post and hope
that goes off okay as I'm out of town.
I wanted to thank you all for stopping by and say
Sorry I havent been by to visit you all but there has been so
much going on  the past two weeks I barely have time to sleep. I
will be back visiting when I get home!!
This is the year Im meeting up with some of my old classmates in Sedona. Since
the last time I have reconnected with on of my best friends in high school and
she is coming. She is driving and will pick me up on the way. I will post
some pics when we get back. Really excited to be gettting out of
dodge and meeting up with the girls!

These shoes make fun little  favors and or a special little girly gift for
some one. You can fill it with whatever you want. You can find the tutorial HERE.
I did a flat shoe and a little heel. After cutting out and assembling the shoes I decorated the aqua one with some lace, a big handmade flower and black sequins. A matching tag used some of the same dp, a little striped oval, a fleur de lis, little handmade flower, cheesecloth bow.

I made a little heel for the second one. After assembly I added some flat glitter
in a  matching peach to the toe area, made a flower from some scrim
and colored itto match adding a black center out of
some thread and a pearl.

I also added so lace across the top and then a
layer of some peach colored braid and a
strand of pearls.

The matching tag was made with some matchings SU dps and bottom punched with a MS punch. A couple of
Spellbinder die cuts layered for some dimension. A little flower with pearl center
and several strands of thin matching ribbon finish it off. The sentiments are from the
sets

Hope you will come join our challenge this week and show us your take on the dimensional shoe!
My teamies have lots of fun examples to inspire you so stop by.

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE #

Good Morning Friends, are you ready for our new FOSTV Challenge
This week it is to make one of those " masculine cards"! Seems those guy
cards dont come quite as easy as the rest for me. how about you? I'm getting
a jump on upcoming birthdays and this is going to be for my sweet Dad.
He will be 91 in about 7 weeks. I used the fun
antique car image as he will really appreciate it since as a
young boy he drove cars like this one.As a
little girl my grampa still drove a very old car and I was always intrigued
by it.After coloring my image I cut it with a scalloped Spellbinder and
popped it up on the black mat.The zig zag strip was also cut with a
Spellbinder and stitched onto the black.
The green dp is from my scrap box and stitched
onto the embossed base. A little twine and button for a embellie,
simple but he will like it. My talented teammates got very creative
with their cards so stop by and check out their inspiration!
The winner will receive a stamp set so why not stop over and
join in the fun this week!

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE

So happy to see Friday how about you?
Today our TTSTV Challenge is to alter a clipboard. I used my clipboard
so didnt want to get to dimensional with it. I dont use it to write on but I
use it to clip up my due work etc. I started by painting it first and adding a
layer of several colors of tissue paper. Then I began dabbing paints and
inks onto it. I stamped with several different stamps and more dabbing
. I chose to use the three images from the Se,ding Happy Thoughts set.
After coloring them I cut them all out. The mats are Spellbinder
Floral Ovals. I used some free shaped chipboards embossed
with a variety of powders.Adheared them all on and
covered with mod podge. Not exactly thrilled with the
results but after I got everything on I couldnt
get them back off so decided to call it good.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE TEAM B

Our Sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and my image is called...Best Friends!
Have you ever spaced off your card that was due? I had my other cards for this week
done and turned it but since we post alternating weeks I somehow got it in my mind mine
was due next week and thought I would do it mid week. Wow what was
I thinking, or rather obviously not thinking! This was a rush job for sure.!
Some dp stitched on and a Spellbinder mat for my
image. The border was cut with a Spellbinder and a string died
to match and tied with the button. A computer generated
sentiment matted on the banner, but it seemed so plain
so I added a little rolled flower. Quickest card I've made
in a while! Stop by and join in, you may be the
winner and receive some free images.

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE #

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day to those of you
in the US. I'm loving having a day off today!
I went a bit crazy today, lots of texture, patterns and color.
Starting with a blue embossed base I folded up the bottom edge
and punched it with a MS butterfly punch but the blue on blue
didnt show up to well so I added a second layer of white
slightly off set along with a Spellbinder die cut edge.

I made a chipboard frame using a Spellbinder die and
embossed with a variety of powders and then
some black ink was added. The hummingbird Happy Birthday is from
the flower I added a couple pieces of greenery made using a
Spellbinder foliage die. So many ways to use the frame
it theme so Hope you will stop by and join our
challenge this week. My talented teammates have
lots of inspiration for you
