The Arrival of Our First Grandbaby!

Hi everyone!  How are you?  How was your Christmas?  Our Christmas was fun this year.  We got to spend the day with our children in our home.  It was nice to sit around and enjoy each others company.  Oh, and play with all the neat gifts.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your family. Over the holidays, we were finally blessed with our first grandbaby, a healthy baby girl.
Brailynn Avery Suzukie was born on 12//29/09 at 3:37am.  She weighed 7Lbs 9 oz. & is 19" Long.  Momma and baby are doing just fine.  My daughters labor and delivery couldn't of been any easier.  She was in labor for 8 hours, and pushed for only 17 minutes, and there she was!  This was the first time that I've ever got to witness a baby being born, and it was absolutely amazing!   I've been asked how it feels to finally be a grandma, and I can only say.............that it's a feeling that I can't describe.  When I first saw her, I cried.  She is absolutely beautiful!  She has the prettiest complection, and is sooooooo perfect!  She's definately  Grandmas little girl!  :)   I'ts going to be wonderful to watch her grow.  I will be posting photos of her from time to time, so you can share in my joy.  Here is a photo of her the day she was born.  ~Happy New Year!~ Jody

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Hello folks, how are you this week?  Are you ready for Christmas?  It's only a few days away!  I'm ready.  I did all my shopping online!  The tree is finally up, and the presents are wrapped!  I'm going on vacation starting Dec. 22 - Jan 4th.  Orders received prior to these dates will ship out when completed.  I will answer any questions and emails that come in while I'm on vacation.  Orders placed during this time will be done when I return to work January 4th.  We've been waiting the last couple weeks for our first grandchild to arrive.  My daughter decided to wait to see if the baby would come on her own.  Well, she hasn't, so my daughter is going to the Dr. this afternoon to be induced, so we should have a baby hopefully today!  I will post some photos real soon!  Have a Merry Christmas everyone!  Enjoy the holidays! ~Jody~

Waiting For Grandbaby

Hello! I may be going on vacation here pretty soon.  We've been waiting for the baby to arrive here at the Stacy household.  She is due on December 20th.  But the Dr. told my daughter this week, that baby is big and needs to come now, or there will be complications.  So my daughter goes in today I guess, the Dr. is going to break her water.  So were on standby waiting for the call to come to the hospital.  The anticipation has been really hard for me.  I'm so excited, that I can hardly wait!  I can't wait to see what she looks like, and to hold her.  My daughter went to the Dr. a couple weeks ago and had a 3D ultrasound done.  I can't beleive the technology today, it's really neat what they can do now days.  Here's one of those photos, she is sticking her tongue out!  Notice how clear the photo is. When she arrives I will post photos to share with you.  I will keep you posted as to when my vacation time will be.

Primitive Kitchen Canister Set #4 Item# 159

We've decided to go ahead and make the Primitive Kitchen Canister Sets, that so many of you have inquired about.  They will be identical to Item# 159, with the exception of the knob & size, we will be purchasing the black knobs instead of making them.  The sizes may be a little different then the others, when we have the measurments I will post them to the site.  They will all be lined with rubber maid.  You will have the option of purchasing them with the design I painted on them prior or, you may choose a design of your choice.  The price of these will be a little higher, due to us having to make them ourselves, but at least they will be new, not used.  I can take orders for these now, but we won't start production until January 1st.  I've moved the Canister Sets to the Primitive Categorie. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a good week! ~Jody~

The Craft Bazaar

Hello everyone!, hope you all had a great weekend!  I just wanted to drop by and let you know that the craft show I participated in was a huge success!  I did better than I thought I'd do.  It was the first show I've participated in, in 20 something years.  I met alot of nice people from my home town.  It was such a pleasure meeting all of you.  The best sellers were my Chenille Snowman Item# 132, My Chenille Snowman with Cardinals Item# 138.  I sold a couple of my new ornaments, and something from my OOAK categorie.

I'm going to be taking some time off here pretty soon, to catch my breath some, and get ready for the holidays.  I need to do some regrouping & reorganizing, and clean my art room.  I will let you know when I do that.

I've also got some custom orders to do.  All these products will be added to the site when finished.

Terrye French & Renee Mullins Designs

I see people are using the poll I've set up on my blog, asking what you'd like to see more of, and you're voting for your favorites. Now that I know who's designs your more interested in, I'd like to know:
1. Which designs by these artists are you most interested in seeing? You can give me item #'s or the name of their design. If you don't know the item # or name of their design, you can go to each of the artists websites, (link on right side of this blog) to pick out the designs your interested in.

2. What kinds of items would you like their designs on? Would you like them on a particular product in my store? Or do you have a particular product that you'd like to see them on?

I have a ton of Terrye French & Renee Mullins designs that I haven't done yet. So if you have a particular design, or a particular product you'd like to see, please feel free to contact me through email
mailto:[email protected] , or you can select the comment link below, and leave your comment there.  It would be very helpful in knowing just what your looking for. Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic week, and are ready for a restful weekend! I've got alot to talk about today, but will try and make it short. First, I added two new products to the site today. A Primitive Tissue Cover in the Primitives Category of the store, which you can get in different sizes.
Here's a couple photos.

The Ornaments are in the Winter Category of the store. Here's a photo of them. You can click on the photos for a enlarged image.

This week I'm going to be working on another custom order, & new ornaments. They will be added to the site when finished. I've come up with a Primitive Winter product which I'm really excited about. Why? Because you may have noticed I don't have any Primitive Winter products to offer you. I actually intended to make some Primitive Ornaments this year, and forgot all about them. Maybe I can get some made? I've also had a couple people request more Renee Mullins items, so I will be getting some things made by some of her designs. So check back if your interested in seeing any of those. Hope you all have a great weekend! ~Jody~

New Products Added

Hi everyone! TGIF! Hope you all had a great week, and get to enjoy the weekend! Happy Halloween to you all too! If you take your little ones out, please be safe!

Today I added two new products to the site. You can find the primitive painting in the Primitive Category of the store.
Primitive Category

I also added a set of Picket Fence Angel Ornaments to the Winter category of the store. Winter Category
Hope you like them!

There's been a change of plans as to what I was going to make. I've had some custom orders come in so I'm going to be working on some of those. First, A Tissue Cover, A Letter Holder, and the rest of them are winter products. All of them are new products that I hope you will like. Im spending my evenings and weekends painting new ornaments to add to the site, and also take with me to the show in December. Although, this weekend I will also be making my daughters baby shower invitations. I will add a photo of them when finished. Have a good weekend everyone, and be safe!

Custom Order Transformation

One of my customers asked me to paint a primitive painting by Maxine Thomas on a large firkin lid she had. So I took a photo of the lid to show the old painting, and a photo of the lid with the new painting. It looks so much better! I still have to antique this piece, so it will be a little bit darker than this after the antiquing is done. I'm also working on another smaller firkin lid she sent me, and it will have a different primitive painting on it. Both paintings will be added to the site soon as a framed painting, with several different frame color options! When I have posted these to the site, I will update my blog to let you know. You may click on the photos to see the detail in these paintings. The first photo has an old painting on it. The second photo is the new painting I painted on it. The third photo was taken by artist Maxine Thomas. So you can see what this painting would look like framed.

Later today I will post some photos of the new Christmas Ornaments that I made, they're just darling!

"Warm Winter Wishes Sled"

Hi everyone! Hope your week has been going good! I've retaken some photos of my "Warm Winter Wishes Sled" and am posting them here. These photos turned out great! This is one of my favorite pieces. The sled measures 24"T x 10"W x 4"Deep with the runners. It's made of Oak. I've painted a Jamie Mills-Price design on it. It sells for $85.00. You can find this painting in the Winter Category of the store.
I had someone tell me, it looks like a sticker! lol Sorry, but this was all hand painted by yours truely! :) Click on the photos to see all the beautiful colors & detail in this painting.

Tomorrow I will be blogging about a recent custom order that I did. One of my loyal customers sent me a large firkin lid with an older painting on it. I sanded the old one off and painted a newer primitive painting on it. It looks so much nicer. I will be showing you some before and after photos, so check back to see this transformation. Have a good night! ~Jody~

"Bloom Where You Are Planted" - Jamie Mills-Price Design

I made some changes to the store yesterday, as you may have noticed. Rather than having to scroll through page after page to see the products, you can choose a category, and all the products for that category are all on one page. I made these changes in the hopes that it would make it easier to browse the store. If you have any suggestions, they're more than welcome here. I also added the store credits yesterday, for those of you who have them. Please feel free to use them any time you want. Yesterday I promised, another photo of one of my products I painted for a customer. The painting is "Bloom Where You Are Planted" a design by Jamie Mills-Price. It's one of my favorites, and it's also a best seller. You can find this painting in the Country Category of the store. If you click on the photos you will be able to see the detail in this painting.

New Store Features & More

Hi all! Hope your having a fantastic week so far! I have a couple of things to talk about today. The store has some NEW FEATURES that I'm happy to offer you.
  • First, you'll notice on the left side where all the links are, that there is a link called "Your Account". You will now be able to log in and view or modify your own profile-name, address, email, etc. You will also be able to view the details of your orders.
  • Second, you will be able to save your current cart. Once you have saved it, the saved cart can be recalled at any time.
  • Third, your now able to use your store credits at checkout. For those of you who have store credits, I will be adding those shortly, so you can use them, any time you want.
  • Fourth, we also have a "Where did you hear about us" option that you may use or not use, at checkout.
  • Fifth, I have a event calendar link on the bottom left side. This is where you will find out what shows I will be attending & when.

I'm happy to report that I'm all caught up with orders!

New Products Coming Soon!

Besides the ornaments I'm working on at night and the weekends for the upcoming show I'll be attending in December, I'm also working on some custom orders that will be added to the site as well. They include:

3 Maxine Thomas-Primitive Paintings

A Primitive Tissue Cover

A Renee Mullins-Painting

So if your interested in seeing any of those please check back!

I'm also working on my photos for the store. I'm not the best picture taker, but have been practicing retaking photos of paintings that I do, so you can see the detail in my work better. So you may see some better photos of items on my site, and my blog. I have found that showing photos on my blog has been the best way to show the detail in my work. I think it's because I don't have to optimize the photos for the blog, and for the store, I do have to optimize them, and that is causing them to be distorted. So I'm working on that. I will be blogging tomorrow and adding another new photo. See ya soon! ~Jody~

New Product Photos

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend! :) Over the weekend I worked on some new products, mainly new ornaments that I will be takeing to the show I talked about previously. I will be adding them to the site when their finished, hopefully next week. I will be caught up with all my orders this week, by Tuesday. One of the orders that I had, included the painting "Home Is Where the Heart Is". I've taken the opportunity to take some more photos of this painting because the others I took didn't seem to turn out too well. These ones did turn out good, so I'm inserting a couple of them here, and you can click on them to see the detail in the painting.

Birthday Card

This is my 4th card, and was made for my daughters 21st Birthday, which was October 9th. I didnt follow any particular sketch. I used pink & brown colored card stock, for the layered look. It was stitched together with my sewing machine. For my image, I used a magnolia stamp called "Tilda with Hat". I colored her using copic markers. I'm still learning to shade, and highlight with the copics, but I think it turned out cute. I used my Cricut machine to cut the leaves, numbers & letters. I used my CuttleBug machine to cut out and emboss the large deckled Rectangles that Tilda is sitting on. I distressed the edges of the rectangle with Tim Holtz distressing ink, to age it up a little bit. A Martha Stewart punch was used on the bottom of the flowered paper to spruce it up some. I used a double ended embossed tag attached to some pink and brown ribbon to say "Happy Birthday" and distressed the tag as well. I also attached three brads to the bottom of the card. The inside was also done to match the outside, using the same colored paper and punch. Turns out that my daughter LOVES the card! Heres some photos, enjoy. ~Jody~

Obamas Making Homes Affordable Program

Hi Everyone! I thought that I'd share a bit of important information with you. Alot of you have heard about Obamas Making Home Affordable Program. But do you know where to go to get the help? We didn't! After countless hours researching the internet I finally found it. So I'm sharing it with you.
But, first our story. Recently my husband and I tried to refinance our mortgage but ran into problems because the value of the home dropped $50,000.00 in two years of owning it. Our loan was an ARM and the montly payment was set to increase in August of this year by several hundred dollars. We knew we couldnt pay the increased amount, so we opted to call our lender. We explained our situation and the circumstances to them, filled out a couple forms they sent, and they did a loan modification with us. Yes, it was that easy!!! We have a much more affordable loan with a fixed rate, & low interest rate. I've recently heard that over 85,000 people who are eligible for the program aren't using it. I figure it's because people don't know where to go to get the process started. That is why I'm posting this today.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
President Obama recently announced a broad national strategy aimed at helping homeowners to restructure or refinance their mortgage loans to prevent foreclosures. The Administration’s comprehensive plan is known as the Making Home Affordable Program.
The Making Home Affordable Program consists of two separate components:
The Home Affordable Modification Program assists homeowners already behind on their mortgage payments, as well as those anticipating financial difficulty.
The Home Affordable Refinance Program enables eligible homeowners to take advantage of today’s low interest rates — even if the outstanding mortgage balance is greater than the value of the home.
Self-Assessment Tools
The official U.S. Treasury site contains a self-assessment tool designed to see if you are among the 7 to 9 million homeowners who may benefit from the refinance or modification programs available through this government program. You can also download a borrower Q&A there. We encourage you to use the resources from the Making Home Affordable Program.

I hope that you will take advantage of this, because they aren't going to be offering it for long, by what I'm hearing. So if you think you might be eligible, go to the website and use the Assesment Tool to see if you qualify! http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/
Have a Nice Day & thanks for stopping by for a visit!~Jody~

Orders

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! I can not believe it's October already! Can you believe how time is flying by? I can't! Before you know it, it's going to be Christmas! I'm still working on filling orders, so I have nothing new to offer you at this time. This is the busiest time of year for me. I was hopeing to add some new Fall & Winter items this year, and I still may, we'll just have to see how busy I am. I still plan on adding the new Terrye French, Renee' Mullins, & Maxine Thomas designs that I posted on the marquee. Hopefully you'll all be patient! :) This week I'm working on finishing the "Home Is Where The Heart Is" Painting. This is the largest painting I offer, and there is alot of detail work that needs to be done on this one. This coming weekend, I'm going to have a new Greeting Card to post to the blog. I made it last weekend for my daughter who is turning 21! this friday. I can't wait to post it, it turned out sooooooooooo cute! It was done in Pink & Browns (her favorite colors) and I used a Magnolia Stamp for the image. I can't post it yet cause I don't want to spoil it for her. So if your interested in seeing it, please check back. I will post several photos of it. Have a great week everyone & thanks for stopping by! ~Jody~

Fall Is In The Air!

Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late in posting, I've still got the bug I caught last week, so I'm running behind. I'm getting better, but it's taken some time.

Fall is definetely here in Washington State! The sky is grey. The wind has been blowing all day, and the leaves are falling all around. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The colors of fall are just beautiful. I always look forward to this time of year because you get to watch the colors change.

This week I'm still working on filling orders, so I don't have anything new to offer. The painting that I'm working on now is "Home Is Where The Heart Is". It's one of my favorites, because of the teddy bears. They are just so adorable, arent they? Here's a photo of what this one looks like.
Have a fantastic week everyone!~Jody~

Teddy Bear Painting

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend! I'm a little late for blogging this week, sorry about that. I believe I've come down with the bug that my husband had. So I haven't felt to hot lately. I sure hope it doesn't last long. Because I'm filling orders I don't have anything new this week. But, I wanted to show you what I am working on. Yesterday and today I'm working on one of my favorite Teddy Bear paintings for a customer. I really enjoy painting these critters. By the time I get the body done and move onto painting the faces I get really excited. Why you ask? Because when I finally get their eyes on it's like the bears come to life! Their just sooooooooooo cute and cuddly, and who doesnt love a teddy bear? "I wish I was a Teddy Bear...everybody loves them, nobody cares if they're fat or old..." By Anonymous

I'm Going to be a grandma!

Good morning, & happy monday to you! Hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend! Our weekend didn't quit go as planned. My husband became ill, so instead of getting the work done outside, he slept, & I cleaned and organized my art room. I'm all ready and organized to create cards on the weekends now. Before all my art stuff for card making was in the kitchen, which didnt work out to well. Always had to put everything away.

New Greeting Card

Good Sunday Morning! Yesterday I spent my day creating this new card!

This is the second greeting card, I've ever made, and it was sooooo much fun to create! I made the card using Rustic Card stack by DCWV. The Teddy Bear image is a digi download from http://www.cuddlybuddly.com/. I used colored pencils to add color to her clothing, with some slight shading. The bear was done with what's called Fur Flock, which is a substance that looks like teddy bear fur!, so she looks & feels just like a real bear! The scrolling and butterflys were created with my Cricut Expression machine.
I've decided to enter it into three different challenges, for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

The first contest I'm entering is at http://www.charmedcrafts.blogspot.com/ for a chance to win some candy a set of 72 (copic markers)! I'm crossing my fingers! I've seen these being demonstrated and they look so fun to use!

The second contest is over at http://fluttabyz.blogspot.com/2009/07/my-blog-candy-giveaway-gorjuss-girls.html for a chance to win a set of Gorjuss Girls Set 3 Stamps. These stamps are adorable, and would make really cute cards!

The third contest is held at http://www.truesgiftsfromtheheart.blogspot.com/ for a chance to win these prizes. And who wouldn't mind winning some card making supplies! Good luck to everyone participating!~Jody~

I mentioned a while back that I was going to be designing my first greeting card. Well that card is finished and here are the results. Click on photos for an enlarged image. I made this thank you card using one of my mothers rubber stamps & my new Cricut Expression, that my kids got me for Mothers Day. (The images used on the card are copyright protected), they belong to my mother). I hope to add my cards to the site and ebay in the future. Have a great weekend everyone!~Jody~
