DLC characters?
As far as I can tell, only Tingle appears in the group artworks. I probably only missed a couple if I missed any at all, so I would say we don't have enough evidence to say that all DLC characters will be available. Just the ones who can actually be seen. Peanutjon (talk) 18:13, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- The game will probably appear on E3, so we should just wait until the official announcement instead of speculating. - Chuck (Talk) 20:08, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- It was confirmed in Nintendos E3 Digital Event that all the DLC characters in HW will appear in Legends

Toon Link?
Idk what the policies are on leaks, but Toon Link was just leaked by Famitsu (apparently). Peanutjon (talk) 16:44, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- Preferably we'd rather wait until there is an official reveal, not just to respect the developers but also to confirm whether it's real or not. People have faked magazine scans before. - Midoro (T C) 16:53, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- These aren't fake, they're distributed by the people who distribute the Famitsu scans weekly, as well. Famitsu is an official a confirmation as we will get for a while. Other things added according to Famitsu: 3 new combat maps (Forsaken Fortress, Windfall and Dragon Roost), new Boss (Helmaroc), new Items (Hammer for use against Helmaroc, Golden Ocarina which functions as a warp), new enemies (Miniblins and Big Blins), something with Owl Statues and it teases that there could be more characters to be revealed. It also confirms more story content, as well as confirms the Wii U version will also get all of this. -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 19:40, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- EDIT: Heck, here's the scans if you don't believe me. Famitsu is not a leak, since they have Nintendo's permission to print stuff. :/ Can the info be added? -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 19:49, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- You're misinterpreting what he meant. We're well aware of the scans, and we're ready to add the information. However, we're trying to confirm whether the Famitsu magazine has been published yet or not. If not, then it's a leak.
- We don't want to post any information that hasn't been officially released yet. If we can find evidence that the Famitsu issue in question has been published (consistent release date schedules, photographic evidence of the cover with dates, what have you), then we're all good and we can start updating. It's just a matter of policy. - TonyT S C 20:35, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, there's actually a fairly big chance that these scans are earlier than the publication date, Famitsu almost always gets posted earlier on the internet. Sorry for the misunderstanding, it's just that when they mentioned "whether it's real or not" I assumed that they meant that the sources were untrustworthy. -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 20:57, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- I've heard reports that the pages are indeed released now, at least according to online news media covering them saying the newest issue is now out--Lego3400 (talk) 20:51, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- To be certain, at the time that that response was written, the scans didn't exist, so we just had the word of one obscure Japanese blog to go on. So it was a partial concern. Now with the scans, we're confident in them.
- I've been searching all morning for any evidence that the magazine was released today, and I haven't found anything. I would rather we didn't add the information until we're 100% positive it's been released as intended. We did the same thing with Hyrule Warriors Legends during E3 out of respect, and we need to set an example. We only continue to exist on the good will of Nintendo, so it's the least we can do to reciprocate that by waiting until they've allowed the information to be out there.
- If you could provide evidence that the magazine has indeed been published, we can all get to work. Until then, I'm going to continue reaching out to my contacts and try to get confirmation myself. - TonyT S C 21:45, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- GameXplain has been known to not to do their homework, so I don't consider them a trustworthy source. - TonyT S C 21:57, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Update: I found a scan of the cover which sets the date as the 24th of September. It would seem this information is premature. - TonyT S C 22:24, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Famitsu lists the release date for the September 24th release as September 10th on their website. ~GamingFanatic (Talk · Contribs) 22:36, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Here is a translation I got from Google Translate,
- Today (September 10 release, 2015) Release of Weekly Famitsu September 24, No. 2015, "Super Mario Brothers" deliver the 30th anniversary featured in the large volume of 30 pages! Nintendo's new scoop featured and Square Enix overseas title professional label of "EXTREME EDGE" such as the new title featured scoop also packed! !
- What is on that site is a news report posted on September 10th in Japan. It does not mean that the magazine came out sooner. In fact, it states otherwise. - Midoro (T C) 22:45, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- The very last paragraph. Here's the original text and a rough translation:
- 週刊ファミ通2015年9月24日号
- 発売日:2015年9月10日発売
- 特別定価:440円[税込]
- Weekly Famitsu September 24 issue, 2015
- Release Date: September 10, 2015
- Special Price: 440 yen [tax]
- As it says, the release date is September 10th. That's tomorrow in much of the world right now, but it's already the 10th there. ~GamingFanatic (Talk · Contribs) 22:59, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- That's good enough for me. I'll unlock all the relevant pages. - TonyT S C 23:35, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- That should be all the pages. Let us know if I missed any, and thanks, GamingFanatic. - TonyT S C 23:39, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
New Information
Toon Link is a speedy charac ter, his attacks generate gusts of wind. His sword is also shown to be pulsing with electricity, so chances are his will be an Electric based move set.
- Two New Items:
- Hammer: Players slam it into the ground to create shock waves to stun enemies.
- Owl Statue + Ocarina: Passive, non attack style item. Players place an Owl Statue somewhere on the map, and then can use the ocarina to quickly teliport too it. Essentially a fast travel item for the map.
- 3 maps based on Wind Waker Locations:
- Windfall Island
- Dragon Roost Island
- Forsaken Fortress
- New enemy Types:
- Miniblins
- Bigblins
- The scans heavily imply that players can unlock the entirety of the 3DS games content on the Wii U version by synchronizing both games together, not just the characters. The chances of this being released as separate DLC is very low.
Ixbran (talk) 23:42, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- someone on redit is reading through the scans, we have confirmation that more characters are still unannounced. So that means more to look forward too in the future.
Ixbran (talk) 02:10, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- Looking over the scans I noticed something interesting, they show off the cutscenes for the new story mode events screen shots, and the HD gameplay screenshots have a blue Wii U signature on them. 3DS screen shots are outlined in red. Maybe liek some sort of light conformation that we also get the story mode features by synchronizing both the 3DS and Wii U versions together, not just the characters.

Linkle's Crossbow
So Nintendo released a new trailer for TGS 2015 and it ends with a similar splash of all the characters. The mysterious cross bow is back. The fact that it's shown up in 2 different trailers (And both the English and Japanese versions of the first one) means it has to have been put there on purpose. We should at least mention it in the article without counting it as a confirmation of Linkle--Lego3400 (talk) 04:45, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
According to this translated interview with with the developers, DLC for this game is being considered, more characters are to be announced. The the way player characters are transferred from HWL to HW is a download code is being released with the 3DS version
- "Toon Link, Tetra and the King of Hyrule would be unlockable in Hyrule Warriors via a serial code, found in the box of Hyrule Warriors Legends on Nintendo 3DS. Therefore, it should be possible for players without a Wii U to give their codes to a friend with Hyrule Warriors on Wii U."
So yeah, its not actual synchronizing the games together like we thought, which is a shame.

Anyone wanna add Skull Kid and Phantom Ganon?
See, we wouldn't have this problem if we were using the table. Peanutjon (talk) 02:04, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- Guess not then. Peanutjon (talk) 16:02, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- The reason why the page was protected to begin with was to prevent rumors and leaked information from being added before an official, intended reveal. The Famitsu reveal was believed to have been leaked prior to their street date release, hence why the pages were protected. Since the official site has now updated and can be seen by everyone, the new info is free to be added. If we did keep the character table, that would have been protected as well. Please keep this in mind with early info. We protect the pages so as to respect the developers.
- At any rate, the pages are unprotected now. - Midoro (T C) 17:46, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
- Technically speaking, shouldn't Hyrule Warriors have been protected too? It wasn't, so Skull Kid was added (which is the only reason I found out about it, seeing as I rely on ZeldaWiki for my Zelda news).
- Also, if it's going to be protected, it kind of falls on the admins to add information. It's not so much a problem that it was protected, more that you (and other admins) were online and making edits and aware of the news, but not doing anything to update the wiki for it. New characters
First of all the ref for this is broken so if someone still has the link can you fix this?
Secondly, back when the ref worked, this article was from when Tetra and the King were the only new characters. Now we have Toon Link, Skull Kid, and Linkle, which I would say counts as "several more characters" (albeit barely). Is there an updated source from post-Linkle (or one from post-Skull Kid that says several or multiple)? Because if not, we should consider finding one or removing it. JP demo stuff
Digging into the JP demo, and it has these strings with what I presume to be the music names:
8bit Hyrule Field:TP 8bit Clock Town:MM 8bit Clock Town 2nd:MM 8bit Clock Town 3rd:MM 8bit Sea:WW
-Einstein95 (talk) 09:57, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Also this with the DLC pack list:
Triforce Costume Pack
-Einstein95 (talk) 10:53, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
- Those are the tracks used on Adventure Mode, as they use 8-bit versions of tracks from TP and MM. The only new one would be TWW one, which is used in the new Great Sea map. Although I do wonder if that Triforce costume pack includes new costumes not shown yet, as the Great Sea map includes some new ones already. - Chuck (Talk) 20:39, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, cool. On my user page I've uploaded all the character select portraits and arranged them into a sort of grid. When the game is released, or the character select is shown, then a proper arrangement can be made. -Einstein95 (talk) 13:20, 19 January 2016 (UTC)
- Some videos already show the character selection screen. What is interesing is that there are portraits of Ganon and the Giant Cucco, which supposedly don't appear in the 3DS version of the game, as the mode in which they appear is exclusive to the Wii U version. - Chuck (Talk) 05:20, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oh? I haven't come across any videos. Also interesting about Ganon and Giant Cucco, as there's plenty of HW leftovers in the demo, at least. -Einstein95 (talk) 13:46, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- I couldn't find the video again, but there's already one with the new characters in the Wii U version here, which I'm sure use the same order. So now I wonder if Ganon and the Giant Cucco are leftovers or will be used in another way. - Chuck (Talk) 19:30, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, I've found it here: ttps://youtu.be/Ik8suS314go?t=56. I'll update my userpage to reflect this, feel free to make it into a template or whatever. -Einstein95 (talk) 02:51, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Can we unlock this?
I'm guessing it was locked to avoid speculation following the leaks of Toon Zelda and spoilers, but since we've seen no sign of people trying to add it early, can it be unlocked so that the admins can do their thing and normal users can help update the page for the PH&ST pack? Same with the main HW page. Peanutjon (talk) 18:14, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
- or at the very least could an admin update the page since it's been almost twelve hours? Peanutjon (talk) 01:47, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- The Very least they can do is to make a temporary Sandbox page on it until the Lock expires. Wolfgerlion64 (talk) 01:50, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- I gave authorization for another member to unlock this, but seeing as they haven't done it, I unlocked it instead. - TonyT S C 02:12, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Update 1.5.0
I did not want to edit the page since I'm playing in french and I'm not sure the name of the fairy is the same, but in the update 1.5.0, the new fairy you get is called "Linette". In case the name is really different, it's one from the Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack. --Lol lee lol (talk) 15:26, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for reminding me about this. I don't have a fairy called Linette so it's likely the fairy has a different default name in French. I know she's found in the Grand Travels Map but as the game gave it out with the update, I already have her and since it was a while ago, I'm not sure which one was her. Was she a water fairy with light green butterfly wings and short light green hair or a lightning fairy with orange pointed wings and short black hair? As far as I'm aware, those are the only two fairies it could be. Link Lab (talk) 16:55, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- She's the water fairy with short light green hair and with the greenish wing. Lol lee lol (talk) 18:37, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks. I've added her default english name, Becka, to the page. Link Lab (talk) 19:45, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
WonderCon Q&A Interview
Noticed not many people talk about this one, but it had some information on what Omega Force developers were considering for game, including Vaati and Groose. (Gonna download a back up to the video in case it goes lost.) Unbura (talk) 14:03, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
