Juannelle
Juannelle is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[4][5]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Juannelle is a Hylian residing at Snowfield Stable in the Tabantha Tundra. She spends her days inside the Stable, where she writes in her journal. At night, she sleeps in one of the Stable's Beds.
When Link first speaks to Juannelle, she explains that she has been all over Hyrule Kingdom in search of information.[6] She has come to Hebra in search of a Stalhorse, but her efforts have been halted by the cold.[7] If Link shows interest, Juannelle shares that she wants to see a Stalhorse with her own eyes.[8] She thinks such a discovery would be a huge scoop.[9]
Since she is unable to go looking herself, Juannelle asks Link if he could take a Picture of one for her.[10] If Link takes her offer, Juannelle will be pleased.[11] She shares rumors that a Stalhorse can be found with Stalkoblins in the N. Tabantha Snowfield or near the North Lomei Labyrinth.[12] She wishes Link luck in his search.[13] After this, the "Stalhorse: Pictured!" Side Quest will begin.
Once Link has a Picture of a Stalhorse, he can return to Snowfield Stable to show it to Juannelle. While the sight of a Stalhorse scares her, she is still pleased to receive a Picture of it.[14] Now that she has the Picture,[15] Juannelle is going to use it as inspiration to write an article.[16] As a reward, she gives Link a Silver Rupee.[17] She expresses her desire to work with Link in the future, at which point the Side Quest ends.[18]
When Link approaches Juannelle afterwards, she proclaims that she knows everything before asking if his name is Link.[19] If Link confirms that he is, Juannelle states that she loves straightforward and honest answers.[20] However, if Link instead instructs her to call him "Mr. Link," she reprimands him for acting coy.[21]
After confirming Link's identity, Juannelle offers to share information about the area with him.[22] He is also able to wake her up at night to ask her questions, though Juannelle considers this to be rude.[23]
If Link asks about the Thyphlo Ruins, Juannelle explains that they are extremely dark, even during the day.[24] She theorizes that there is a mysterious power behind the phenomenon.[25] She believes that someone would become famous if they were able to find out what was hiding within the Ruins.[26] Finally, she informs Link that they are located past Mount Drena in the direction of the Eldin Mountains.[27]
If Link asks about the far edge of the Hebra Mountains, Juannelle shares he story of an adventurer who attempted to journey to the northwestern corner of Hyrule Kingdom.[28] However, before he was able to reach his destination, he was forced to turn back due to the cliffs and Updrafts.[29] Juannelle asked the adventurer why he went so far out, and he told her it was because he wanted to know what was there.[30] Juannelle is unable to understand his reasoning, as that would not be enough of a reason for her to go out into the cold.[31]

I was glad to hand over that whole set of froggy armor, Link. You earned it. Besides, it was an impulse buy. Didn't fit me or my sisters. Or Penn.

[I can do it.] Good answer!

There's a rumor that it can be found with Stalkoblins in the North Tabantha Snowfield. Some have reported it aaaaall the way on the other side of the snow field to the east, right in front of these bizarre ruins.

Soooo, what do you wanna know? I have info on the pitch-black ruins and on what's at the far edge of the Hebra Mountains.
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
I hope you realize how rude it is to wake me up when I'm trying to sleep... I'll forgive you, though. You clearly are desperate for the kind of info only I can provide!

[Tell me about the ruins.] Light is unable to enter these ruins for some reason. It's said that you can't see an inch ahead, even during the day!
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
There must be some mysterious power behind this phenomenon, don't you think?
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
I can only wonder what's hiding within those ruins... But finding whatever it is would certainly make you famous!
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Where is it? It should be past Mount Drena if you're heading toward the Eldin Mountains.
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
[The far edge, eh?] There was an adventurer who pledged to journey to the northwesternmost part of Hyrule... To the very edge of the Hebra Mountains.
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
This adventurer went north of the mountain range as far as possible and then west. However, steep cliffs and raging winds stood in the way. The adventurer was forced to turn back.
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Upon returning, I posed a question to the adventurer. I said, "Why do so far out there?" "Because I wanted to know what was there!" was the adventurer's reply.
— Juannelle (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
I must admit, I don't think that'd be enough for me. I can't believe someone would want to go into the cold unknown.
