The Great Deku Tree's Navel is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Great Deku Tree's Navel is the hollow center of the Great Deku Tree in Korok Forest. The Navel consists of a single central room, where a Cooking Pot and the Goddess Statue of Korok Forest can be found. At the Goddess Statue, Link can exchange Spirit Orbs for Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels.[3]

Three side rooms also exist within the Navel, each of which hosts a Shop created by the Koroks to help Link after his Slumber of Restoration.[4][5] The Shops are the General Shoppe, the Spore Store, and an unnamed Inn. At the Inn, Link is able to sleep in a Bed for free.[6]

The Great Deku Tree's Navel is similar to its Breath of the Wild incarnation, though the Deku Tree Chasm has opened up on the former site of the Spore Store, forcing Natie to relocate.[2]

Before Link defeats the Phantom Ganon beneath the Deku Tree Chasm, the Koroks within the Navel will be unresponsive, not replying if interacted with.[7]

After the Phantom Ganon is defeated, Pepp will reopen their Inn,[8] allowing Link to stay free of charge.[9] Natie and Daz will then also reopen the Spore Store and General Shoppe, respectively. Tasho can be found here looking for Oaki. Tasho suspects that Oaki may be inside the Great Deku Tree's mouth,[10] which is located directly above the Spore Store and can be accessed by Ascending from there.[11]

An unlit Cooking Pot sits at the heart of the Great Deku Tree's Navel. Along the wall nearby, there is a Goddess Statue.

We all decided to open shops in preparation for your visit, so the Great Deku Tree let us set up shop here. But you're a lot bigger than us, so it probably feels a little cramped for you. — Natie (Breath of the Wild)

Hmmm. I wonder where he went. Maybe he's hiding in the Great Deku Tree's mouth... If you wanna know where his mouth is, it's right above the Spore Store. — Tasho (Tears of the Kingdom)
