Oven Mitt Magic | OOPS WE DID IT AGAIN! We took an everyday Dollar Tree item and crafted up some Holiday MAGIC! 🤗❤️🎄 #winterwonderland #santa #crafter #ornaments... | By Gnome & Backyard | Hi, everybody. It's Lee with Gnome and Backyard and I just wanted to let you all know the Dollar Tree does have their beautiful Christmas and winter oven mitts in. So, we are going to take and give these a really cute makeover. We're also going to take some cleaning supplies from the Dollar Tree. We have a microfiber fan duster and then just a regular microfiber duster. So, the first thing we're going to do, let's take our snowflake oven mitt and the first thing we are going to do is actually take the thumb and we're going to push it inwards so we're just going to fold our thumb inside the oven mitt okay? And we are going to add a generous bead of hot glue right in there and then pinch it closed. Okay, the next thing we're going to do is we're going to take the bottom of our oven mitt and we are also going to flip that inside. We're going to flip it inside so that it is straight across the bottom. There you go. We tucked everything in and now we have the bottom of a hat. We are going to take our ceiling fan duster and we are actually just going to fluff it up a little. We are going to take the handle and leave it on there and we are going to just put it right up inside of our oven mitt. Now, I'm going to take some hot glue to secure it in place. So, again, just running a very generous bead of hot glue on the inside of the oven mitt on both sides and then we're just going to take that handle and push it right up in there. Give it a little bit of pressure to make sure that your duster is secure into the bottom of your oven mitt How cute is this you guys? This is too cute. I think you know where I'm going with this. So, the next thing we're going to do is we are just going to take some silver ribbon. We had some really pretty silver shiny ribbon and we're going to take it up to two thirds of the way up the top of our oven mitt and we are going to just take and tie it in a nice, nice, tight bow there. Now you could use more ribbon you could use whatever type of decorations you have at home in your stash I have this really pretty silver snowflake and then this really pretty white snowflake that I am just going to use as some embellishments right there on my hat So, I'm just going to hot glue those on Okay, everybody. The best part of this project, if you're a follower of Noman Backyard, you know what it is. We're going to add a nose to this little cutie. Now, what I'm going to use for his nose. I have one of the little wooden mushrooms from the Dollar Tree, you can use anything. You could use a wooden bead. You could use a pom pom. If you have pom poms, whatever you have in your stash you can use but I think that's the perfect size for my little guy. So, that's what I'm going to use. I'm just going to put some hot glue on the bottom Hi, and then I'm going to just tuck it right in there underneath the brim of his hat. Oh you guys how cute is this little guy and again it was two items from the Dollar Tree a mop and an oven mitt and then some embellishments now you can hang him on your front door which would look really sweet you can hang him on your kitchen cabinets and for that all you're going to do is you're just going to take and attach some ribbon right here on the back of your oven mitt I'm not going to do that right now because you guys know I love shelf sitters and I plan on just stuffing him in as a shelf sitter or maybe I'm going to put him on my gnome tree now let's do our next one We're going to take this beautiful poinsettia oven mitt. Again, we're going to just fold in the thumb We're going to give it some hot glue right here to secure it. Just remember when you are picking out your oven mitts to use for these projects make sure whatever pattern you use is going to be going in the right direction when you use it like this as a hat sometimes your oven mitts have words on them and they would be upside down or your pattern if it goes in this direction it would be upside down when you flip it over so definitely just flip over your oven mitts in the store and make sure they have a running pattern like this that you can definitely use now we're going to take our second microfiber dust cloth here. You know we don't want to use these for cleaning. No way. We want to use them for crafting here at Noman Backyard. Let's just fluff it up a little. We're going to take our oven mitt and turn in the bottom again until it is straight across the bottom. Let's put some glue in there and again you're using a generous amount of hot glue to secure these beards into your oven mitts and then we're even leaving the handles right on let's take leave our handle on and let's just take and push it right there right up to the top So, we are going to have two cute gnomes with two different shaped beards. I am absolutely loving this. Look how cute this is. Now, for our accessories for this one, I have some pretty gold ribbon that again, I am just going to tie right here to gather my top of my hat I'm not sure if I need the bow on this one but we'll see in 1 minute. I'm absolutely loving this point setup print on here. I happen to have some gold poinsettias in my stash. It was a pin. I'm just going to put hot glue on the bottom and I am going to glue it right to that ribbon to give the top of his hat a really cute accessory. There we go. We covered up that little bow bit but that's quite alright. Oh, I am absolutely loving this again, you guys. Now, for his nose, I am going to take these half buttons from the Hobby Lobby. They're a dollar forty9. You get six pieces of them. They're actually called a split ball and they're one inches but again, you could take and use whatever you like for your nose. You can take a ping pong ball from the Dollar Tree and paint it. Um there are lots and lots of options for the noses. I really like the wood noses so that's why I choose to use the wood beads a lot. Look at how sweet this long beard looks on him. I'm absolutely loving him and again guys, you can definitely take and put a ribbon right back here. Um secure it to the back of your oven mitt with some glue to use him as a door hanger. He is really sweet with the length on him. He would actually look really cute on the kitchen cabinets also. So, here you go. We gave you two options today for crafting up some really cute gnomes all with a oven mitt from the Dollar Tree and some dusters from the Dollar Tree. Thank you so much for continuing to sprinkle all of Noman Backyard's videos and I really do hope you get the chance to craft up these guys for yourself.
