Therese ingeniously devised a plan to repurpose IKEA kitchen cabinets, transforming them into a bespoke entryway cabinet with a bench.

It’s nearly impossible to renovate every room of your home at once, so some spaces have to wait a little longer than others for a transformation. At Michela Andrioletti’s (@casa_in_newyork) home that she shares with her husband, that space was the entryway. “We put in the first things we could find at the most affordable budget when we moved here five years ago and then we just didn’t have time to fix it,” Michela says.

Your entryway is the first thing you see when you enter your home, so it needs to be beautiful. It’s also the last thing you see when you run out the door, so it should also be stocked with your everyday “grab” items—shoes, hats, keys, purses and anything else you might need when leaving your space. But what if you have a tiny entryway, or even—dare we say it—no entryway at all?
