Covid 19 global epidemic of which we fell the effect on everthing and having different reflection... more Covid 19 global epidemic of which we fell the effect on everthing and having different reflections to whole World in 2020 generated serious results like social-economic, spatial, politicak and enviromental. The pandemic crisis has had a great impact all over the world and has greatly affected people's housing and settlement preferences. The altered housing preferences during the pandemic, along with the necessity for people to suspend their social interactions and the requirement for isolated living, have transformed urban areas into abandoned spaces while making rural areas preferred choice. It highlights the shift in expectations from housing, focusing on spaces suitable for bothrecreational activities and remote work. Additionally, it emphasizes the increasing prominence of secondary residences that cater to the conditions sought during this time. Secondary residences, which are used for recreation, entertainment and holiday purposes other than permanent residences, have become more popular than ever with the Covid-19 pandemic, although they have been used for a long time, and the secondary housing market has expanded significantly.Research incates a surge in the use of secondary residences durung the pandemic, as they offered an escape from the uncertainties and health risks or urban life. The text specifically mentions the ezamination of Van/Mollakasım Neighborhood, which forms the most populousand important secondary housing area in the city. Purpose of the research; It is to reveal how the changes caused by the pandemic crisis in people's settlement areas increased their migration to rural areas, and how they affected destination choices, especially in terms of tourism, and how secondary houses became an important choice in this period and began to turn into places of escape for people. In this regard, it was aimed to reveal whether there were changes in the use of secondary housing during the crisis in Mollakasım District, through surveys and interviews administered to users. This study is also remarkable and important as it is among the first studies dealing with the subject of secondary housing in terms of lakes. When the data obtained at the end of the study was evaluated, it was determined that there were increases in the purchase, construction, rental and stay periods of secondary housing in the neighborhood with the pandemic. The increase in usage due to the pandemic has increased the population density and brought about various restrictions.
