Dive into an emulator of obscure research hardware dredged off the net.

Uncovering remote 3D scans excavated from the RELICS virtual machine, you trespass among fragmented ruins; transmissions of a long-frozen data stream.

But when the stream begins to thaw, no system can handle this overflow...

Heads Up: if you have mouse problems, try the _KBM version, the non-kbm version tries to autodetect controllers and it can end up disabling the mouse input.

BRO THIS IS THE TYPE OF SHIT I LOVE. Highly recommended!

7.3/10 - Such an interesting prototype that has me confused, (20-40 mins), To preface, this game is not for everyone for a variety of reasons. This game is difficult especially if you don't pickup on the queues that it provides.

The game is beautiful in it's own strange artsy way, but I can see many people being put off by it due to how much flashing and visual hallucinations there are in this game. The game has chaotic structure but you really don't realize it until you start to understand the mechanics whether that's visually or auditory. I also can't image the experience this game would provide on drugs as it would be terrifying.

This game is a prototype and I would love to see what more this game can offer as it's an unique experience that you rarely come across. So i'm hoping a full game off this does come out.

However I do have a few issues with this game, this includes the barrier of entry of this game as it's difficult at times. Having some additional elements at the start to help out in the coding section ( I progressed though to a point but got stuck as I couldn't find the right word so I had to watch a video to progress) or 3D section (It took me 10 mins to even realize the main mechanic). My last critique are the visuals, although amazing are disorientating due to the swift black and white flashing contrasts which did cause my head to slightly hurt ( I'm unsure how this would be fixed except for it being slightly toned down which could detract from the game).

I really hope this is finished or atleast a new update is released

Is this normal?

(-1)

uh i got stuck literally on the first 3D encounter

(+1)(-1)

the site went down huh so the game probably ended here

(+1)(-1)

He's still working on it

(-2)

Oh nice

Where did he say that?

(1 edit) (+1)

He streams on twitch, link in description

(+1)(-2)

sadly this is the only response i've been seeing for the past 8 years. "Q: is this game dead? A: no, he streams on twitch."

at this point where the developer is absolutely silent to the public except for the mute twitch streams, the game is, unfortunately, as good as dead.

(+1)

Wdym mute twitch streams? He does interact with the chat. He's cool afaik.

But fair, no one is sure when it will be finished, it's done when it's done. Sure some can interpret that as "dead".

(+1)

Nah, he had IRL stuff going on for a while, but is working on the game in his free time, and is slowly working his way to a release. I wouldn't expect it soon as there is still a lot to do; but he is 100% intent on releasing it based on stream discussions.

(+1)

If I follow you on here will I become notified when the game releases? I want to throw money at you, been following this project for yeaaaaars

The name "Memory of a Broken Dimension" is the perfect way to describe this game. If I had computer data transmitted directly into my brain, this is how it would look at feel. The game will not appeal to most people, because it's 'loud and confusing', but that fact works in its favor
(game starts at 2:15:37)

Interesting. Since 2012, you're developing this one, aren't you, ya? I hope you can launch I would like see whole. The ending is the memory dump, isn't it? Or I step or going to wrong way?

(+3)

this is one of the coolest games i've ever played.so inspiring.

(+4)

I remember playing this year ago and I'm waiting for it ever since. I hope you won't leave it and one day I'll be able to play it. It's the most stunning thing I've ever seen here. Wish you luck and if you'd need someone for beta testing the game, count me in :D.

This^^

(+2)

Echoing everyone else, this is seriously phenomenal and it makes me horrified and alienated and awestruck in a way only NaissanceE has done for me before. I really do hope you resume developing this in the future because what's already here is breathtaking.

(+3)

It's rare to find an experience this fresh and visually arresting. Really great concept, and the puzzle of the prototype was satisfying once I learned how to get my bearings in such a strange space. Really does feel like you're trespassing.

how do I make things solid?

Bruh, is this even being developed anymore? It's been 5 years and all we have is one trailer. I love the demo to death, I NEED this game ;-;

(+1)(-1)

Right!? I totally agree! ;n;

(+2)(-1)

i doubt it (sadly). xra probably got tired of it and scrapped the idea along with all his social media.(game didn't receive a lot of coverage) his twitter been inactive since 2017. if anyone has any information on the whereabouts of xra reply to this comment.

Memory of a Broken Dimension

(-1)

i am not able to play it because it needs to be updated to work with macOS high sierra 10.13.4.

it would be great if you could try to update it

got past the initial dos part in to the world but now i dont know what to do. how do i move the objects in to one piece as some of the reviews say.

It seems to be about perspective.

I feel like was I be dreamming! It's amazing! This aesthetic is very cool and impressive! Good job!

Very impressive, can't wait to see the final product on steam!

best sales pitch ive ever read

I played it back in 2012! Or somewhere near. I dig this game, it tickles my perceptions so much I get instant fear attacks and I love it.

make sure to wishlist this

Please get rid of the command line section. it really isn't fun and it's quite frustrating and acts as a barrier to the meat and fun of the game.

(+4)

I thought it was fun.

(+4)

I think it adds to the eerie mysterious atmosphere of the game. I'd say it should be expanded.

Why i just see code? I can't get it start!! How to play? Need tutorial or something wrong???

Deleted 2 years ago

OK, I will try. Thank you.

(+4)

when is the release date for the full game?

(+4)

Still waiting for the full game! Update soon, perhaps?

(+1)

This game is really interesting the asthetic is amazing with the sounds and fragmented geometry i didn't looked for a walkthrough online so i kind of got stuck at the part where you are making a stair case of meshes, using bash only once in a while figuring out how to join this static world was already really fun in it self, just the moment where you finally get to dive with this agressive loading was hilariously good ! Keep dreaming

(+1)

uhhff that was pleasing and oppressive. hope y are near the finishline. waiting fo

(+1)

This is bloody awesome. I hope the full game is still in the works. An incredible experience.

This is a cool wee game but is it supposed to just keep looping at the BSOD? I can't seem to find any way forward from there. Looking forward to the full version!

this game make me feel unconfortable for an unity game its really well made i mean its impressive ... But this game have no clue about what to do i figure out you can make the path solid in some point of the game i freak out and find myself to turn in circle ... any tip to go further in this game .

Hey so the game looks really cool, but unfortunately I'm having trouble with the controls. When using a controller, the camera just moves right forever. Additionally using a keyboard is difficult as I use a non-QWERTY keyboard layout. If you could read the keybinds I set in the unity config that opens before the game, that would fix the layout issue (and it should be an easy fix as well). Kudos for the Linux version!

(-1)

If you were to download the file to your computer normally and open the exe file while holding shift, the unity options pops up! I think that will get you where you need to be.

The game is ignoring the controls set in unity options

Is the game even maintained anymore? I've gone completely unnoticed for nearly a month. It's a pretty big deal when you can't rebind keys and the controller support doesn't even work :/

(+3)

As description suggests, this demo wasn't updated since 2012 and I think dev dosn't plan to update it but rather finish the full game

(+4)

Someone recommended this to me about a year ago while I was working on my diploma work (vr and mixed media installation) at an art school.  I'm not really a person who plays video games but memory of a broken dimension changed something in me, starting from the fact that I felt beaten down and extremely inspired at the same time because someone had already created something that I so  wanted to create.

It's been a year since I've played it for the first time, a half a year since I presented my diploma work but I still keep returning to this game, the whole experience is somewhere at the back of my mind. Thank you and I hope to see it finished one day.

Just played all the way through it(?) and failed to find any easter-egg command through stringdumping :(

Glitch exploration is always fun
