Sacramento in the 1980s was perceived as peaceful and safe, far removed from the grisly crimes that would soon be uncovered on F Street.
At the time, Judy Moise is a dedicated social worker who feels a particularly close relationship with her client Bert Montoya. She gets him off the streets and places him in a boarding house, a place where he will be safe and cared for by the grandmotherly figure who runs it. When Montoya suddenly goes missing, though, Judy becomes increasingly concerned and contacts the police. She unknowingly sets in motion the discovery of more than half a dozen bodies.
In the latest episode of the true crime series “Hometown Tragedy,” Judy’s daughter Britt Moise recounts her mother’s experiences that eventually reveal a serial killer in their midst, Dorothea Puente. Criminal psychology expert Marissa Harrison provides insight into the killer’s disturbing behavior, explaining how Puente was able to operate undetected for so long.
"The Serial Killer on F Street" is a haunting exploration of deception, trust and the horrifying realization that evil can lurk in the most unexpected places.
