Auburn falls to Houston 17-13 in the Birmingham Bowl
Yes, well, first of all, um, I said the other day, but just want to thank the bull, thought they did a great job, Just the hospitality and um, the way that we were treated, you know, so we do appreciate that. Congratulations to Houston, a good football team. We knew that and um, those guys played well today. So, um, I told our team in the locker room and proud of our guys. You know, we have a lot of fantastic people on this team and in football it does come down to execution. It comes down to things in the game that you have to do to win it and we need to obviously be better in those areas. But the people locker room, I'm proud to be their coach, proud of those guys this season. Certainly the seniors, not how you want that to finish for those seniors, but they understand where our football program is going and certainly, um, appreciate the seniors and those guys have been a part of this program and have been through the coaching changes and the, and the things that have happened at Auburn. Um, and for the effort they gave this year, we didn't get the results that we want season, but there was a lot of times that, uh, you all didn't get a chance to see on the practice field and the meeting rooms, All right. And what we get to do as a team. Uh, there was a lot of positives that I took away from this season and certainly a lot of things that I learned as a coach because of these guys and being around them. So I'm proud of our guys. I'm disappointed in the results and, you know, we have a group of players that are, that are fantastic guys. They're going to come back and be a part of this team next year. And so, uh, these seniors, I told them to impart some wisdom on these guys before they leave, and these seniors are always a part of our family at Auburn, they know that, um, and then we'll get back, we'll get back and we'll start going back to work and we, we've learned a lot from this year of just, you know, the, the details, the little things and, and all it takes to be a successful football team. And um, you know, we'll get to work on that eventually. But for these guys coming into this game, I wanted to see him win, wanted to see him be able to finish with the w, and I think they deserve that. Uh, that didn't happen, but nonetheless still proud of our guys and, and still appreciate what they were able to do this year and the effort they gave to this program into this team
