Discussion
[edit]- Comment Do you propose this property to replace (in the medium term) section, verse, paragraph, or clause (P958) — or to be combined with it? Nomen ad hoc (talk) 19:49, 10 August 2019 (UTC).
- Not in general, only for the relevant part in the (first) sample above. Similarly column (P3903) didn't replace it either. Maybe "verse" would need to be deleted from the label of P958. --- Jura 11:30, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- Support so. (And the current proposal to be entitled "line(s)/verse(s)".) Nomen ad hoc (talk) 12:43, 11 August 2019 (UTC).
- I'm fine with having it as an alias, but w:line (poetry) compared to w:verse (poetry) has the advantage of not having too many other meanings. --- Jura 12:54, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

- All right. Nomen ad hoc (talk) 12:56, 11 August 2019 (UTC).

- Comment What about non-numbered book lines? Could someone use this property counting it oneself? Nomen ad hoc (talk) 12:58, 11 August 2019 (UTC).
- I'd think so. Columns generally aren't numbered either. --- Jura 13:01, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- Correction: looks like in the sample use, they are. --- Jura 14:35, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- In that case, it would have to always relate to a specific version, edition or translation (Q3331189), right? Different versions have completely different line arrangements, don't they? (Unless it's official numbering of Shakespeare sonnets and so on) --Vojtěch Dostál (talk) 09:07, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
