[edit]I don't see any difference from has facet polytope (P1312).--Infovarius (talk) 17:38, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Infovarius::hexagonal bipyramid (Q3094168) doesn't have hexagon (Q83043) side of face, but its base is hexagon (Q83043)。--A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 00:36, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- And can describe this:
- This property is difference from has facet polytope (P1312), this property need with qualifier of (P642) to describe. For example a hexagrammic trapezohedron. (It doesn't have hexagram (Q1164668) side of face.)
- base (P3263) → hexagram (Q1164668)
- ⟨ hexagrammic trapezohedron ⟩ base (P3263) ⟨ hexagram (Q1164668) ⟩
of (P642) ⟨ trapezohedron (Q141458) ⟩
- --A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 00:58, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- And property base (P3263) could be found useful to annotate formulas about volumes, but has facet polytope (P1312) can't. ---A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 01:22, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Still I don't understand what do you mean by "base"? According to en-article it is one of the sides (faces). And I completely don't understand the claim ⟨ cube (Q812880) ⟩ base (P3263) ⟨ equilateral triangle (Q157002) ⟩. --Infovarius (talk) 10:23, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
of (P642) ⟨ trapezohedron (Q141458) ⟩- @Infovarius::in Chinese,「一個多面體的基底」 maybe not refer to “a base of a polyhedron”, maybe it does not reference the faces here but arrangement of vertices around an axis of symmetry. For Example, an octagonal bipyramid are base on an octagon and up vertices and down vertices, and connect each vertices of vertices to the vertices and down vertices. The solid octagonal bipyramid doesn't have any octagon face , but it “base on” an octagon. (My English is not well, I wrote the Chinese below)

- Ok, thanks for the explanation. --Infovarius (talk) 11:11, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Infovarius::maybe change name of this property to "base on polytope"?--A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 12:22, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- in polyhedron:
- a polyhedron which is base on a polygon.
- For example: hexagonal bipyramid (Q3094168) is a bipyramid (Q2076140) which is base on hexagon (Q83043), with Schläfli symbol (Q1347011) {6}+{}.
- a polyhedron which is base on a polygon.
- in polychoron:
- a polychoron which is base on a polyhedron.
- For example: 16-cell (Q2471444) is a four-dimensional bipyramid (Q2076140) which is base on octahedron (Q188884), with Schläfli symbol (Q1347011) {3,4}+{}.
- a polychoron which is base on a polyhedron.
- in polyteron, a five-dimensional polytope or 5-polytope:
- a polyteron which is base on a polychoron.
- For example: 5-orthoplex (Q4639671) is a five-dimensional bipyramid (Q2076140) which is base on 16-cell (Q2471444), with Schläfli symbol (Q1347011) {3,3,4}+{}.
- a polyteron which is base on a polychoron.
- a polytope with Schläfli symbol (Q1347011) form {x}+{} is a type of bipyramid (Q2076140), and it without any {x} facet.
- in polyhedron:
- @Infovarius::in Chinese,「一個多面體的基底」 maybe not refer to “a base of a polyhedron”, maybe it does not reference the faces here but arrangement of vertices around an axis of symmetry.
- The implication is the property must to have qualifier of (P642) to describe what kind of polytope to refer. Special:Diff/386765253
- for example: can not determine what the equilateral triangle (Q157002),
- should use to describe what the equilateral triangle (Q157002) refer to.
- by the way, cube (Q812880) also known as "Triangular trapezohedron"--A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 13:08, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
- for example: can not determine what the equilateral triangle (Q157002),
- and it can be a qualifier. for example:
- ⟨ tetrahedron (Q160003) ⟩ subclass of (P279) ⟨ pyramid (Q3358290) ⟩
base (P3263) ⟨ triangle (Q19821) ⟩- to describe "Tetrahedron is a Triangular pyramid"
- ⟨ regular dodecahedron (Q16629569) ⟩ subclass of (P279) ⟨ truncated trapezohedron (Q3893527) ⟩
base (P3263) ⟨ pentagon (Q127840) ⟩- to describe "Regular dodecahedron is a Truncated pentagonal trapezohedron"
- At least this qualifier helps to understand, yes. --Infovarius (talk) 08:45, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Infovarius:Do you think it necessary to rename it to “base on polytope” or something like that? -- A2569875 (talk) 宇帆(普通留言·Flow留言·聯絡) 15:14, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
- No, "base" is better. May be "base polytope", or "base of polytope"? We need English native speaker. --Infovarius (talk) 18:59, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
