Description
Svenska: I En Eva har Anders Zorn avbildat modellen mot en fond av svensk natur under annalkande höst. Hösten finns på ett mystiskt sätt i det ännu gröna lövverket, men Eva är evigt ung. Zorn har främst varit fängslad av de rent måleriska problemen, men hans tankar har även kretsat kring det eviga temat höst och vår. Det var likt hans poetiska känsla att fängslas av kontrasterna mellan det evigt ungas symbol, den sublimt jungfruliga flickan i lunden, och den annalkande hösten. Intressant i sammanhanget är också att Gerda Boëthius i sin biografi omnämner en studie, med likartat motiv, vilken av konstnären lär ha givits titeln Höst och vår.

En Eva betraktades av Boëthius som ett av Zorns huvudverk från den aktuella perioden
