The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for heavy rain in Wales. Heavy rain from Storm Darragh is likely to lead to disruption to transport and infrastructure on Saturday, December 7, the forecast agency has warned.

The agency has predicted there could be as much as 80-90mm of rainfall. The warning has been issued from 3am until 6pm on Saturday and comes after the Met Office issued a red weather warning for strong winds for the same day. The agency has warned of "danger to life" due to flying debris and falling trees from Storm Darragh. You can read more about this here.

The warning for heavy rain reads: "20-30 mm of rain will likely fall in 3-6 hours, with totals of 80-90 mm likely by the time rain begins to ease on Saturday evening. The Met Office has warned that people in these counties can expect spray and flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, which could cause a "danger to life", as well homes and businesses likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. Furthermore, there could be a good chance some communities will be cut off by flooded roads, there could be delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely, as well as power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.

This week, the Met Office has already issued two yellow warnings for Wales on Friday, December 6, as well as more yellow and amber warnings anticipated on Saturday, December 7. As of Friday morning however, the Met Office has issued further two weather warnings - a red weather warning for wind and amber weather warning for rain in Wales.
