A man in his 80s has died after the car he was driving crashed into a parked truck in north Wales. The tragedy happened shortly before 7am on Monday, November 18, in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey.
The man’s red Peugeot 107 was involved in a crash with a stationary pick-up truck on Holyhead Road just outside the Tyn Lon Garage. Emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.
However, police have now confirmed that the man, who was local to the area, died on Monday afternoon. Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the serious collision investigation unit at North Wales Police said: “I’m urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who is yet to speak to us to do so as soon as possible.
"We’re also keen to trace the driver of what is believed to be a silver-coloured Volvo 40 which was travelling in the opposite direction shortly after the collision as they may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.” Anybody with information is asked to contact officers at the serious collision investigation unit online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 24000975895.
