Everything Ariana Grande-Butera Did at the Golden Globes

Awards shows might be entertainment for us, but for celebs, these are work events. And Ariana Grande was certainly keeping busy at the 2025 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Wicked. Below, a play-by-play of everything that Grande did on the red carpet and in the room, from holding Cynthia Erivo’s finger and raising her eyebrows during Nikki Glaser’s monologue to reacting to “Pope-ular” and screaming for director Jon M. Chu.

She toss-tossed her hair for the Glambot.

She broke down her Audrey Hepburn–esque look.

She held space with Cynthia Erivo on the red carpet.

She got in on a group hug.

She hinted at new music.

She posed for lots of pics.

She offered her (and Erivo’s) finger up.

Nikki Glaser joked during her monologue that she was nervous and needed to hold Grande’s finger. Naturally, the empath raised a hand …

… but then reached for her co-star and mouthed, “Hold her finger.”

She looked concerned about a weed joke.

Glaser joked that Harrison Ford said “indica” when asked whether he would rather work with Zendaya or Ariana. The punch line had Grande’s eyebrows jumping.

She was just as disappointed as us about ‘Pope-ular’ getting cut off.

Glaser didn’t finish singing her Pope-themed parody of “Popular,” but Grande seemed to want to hear more.

She and Erivo helped Wicked’s resident ‘zaddy’ and ‘mother’ from the audience.

While presenting, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh acknowledged that they were confused by some of the praise they receive online. Grande and Erivo provided a visual aid from the audience when Yeoh mentioned “slaying the boots house down.” (That’s what we call working in queer media.)

She held hands with Erivo and Jon M. Chu.

After Wicked won the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, the trio helped each other onstage.

She cheered, teared up, and laughed during Chu’s speech.

In that order.

She was recorded by her proud mom, Joan.

We see the expressive eyebrows run in the family.
