A FUN EASTER OREO RECIPE
We have always loved Oreo Truffles (or Oreo Cookie Balls). They are so easy to make and you don’t need an oven! These Easter Egg Oreo Truffles are fun for kids. They love all the colors but they also love helping to decorating these scrumptious treats! Using various different colors of candy melts and sprinkles, you can really have fun with getting creative! If you are looking for a super simple (and sweet!) recipe to bring to your Easter gathering, then you have to bring this Easter Egg Oreo Truffle recipe.

We use regular Oreos for this recipe but you can absolutely use any flavor that you like. Some flavors that would be fun would be lemon, red velvet, mint, golden Oreos, etc.
We use Wilton brand candy melts for this recipe. You can usually find these at Walmart down the cake decorating aisle or in most craft stores nationwide.
You will want to freeze for at least 30 minutes. This helps when dipping into the candy melts so it keeps the egg shape in tact.
No. It just makes it fast and easy. if you do not own one you can use a blender or the just do it the old-fashioned way by putting the cookies in a plastic bag and bag with a rolling pin until fully crushed.
Almond bark is just a candy coating. I have no idea why they call it that. There are usually two flavors, vanilla and chocolate. We are using the vanilla for this recipe.
No. You can just purchase some white candy melts instead. I like the vanilla flavor from the almond bark but white candy melts work just fine!
These will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks. They can also be frozen. Place the truffles in a freezer-safe bag or container and they will keep for up to 4 months. To defrost, remove to the refrigerator overnight.

- cream cheese
- oreo cookies
- vanilla almond bark
- colored candy melts (I used the Wilton bright pink, blue and yellow candy melts – they can be found at most Walmarts and craft supply stores)
- an assortment of brightly colored sprinkles
HOW TO MAKE EASTER EGG OREO TRUFFLES:
In a food processor finely crush the Oreo cookies. Place the cookie crumbs and cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.
Blend together with a hand mixer until combined (it should look like a thick paste.)
Using a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop, form the cookie mixture into balls and then gently shape into an egg shape. Place eggs on a parchment paper lined sheet pan and put into the freezer for 30 minutes.
When ready, melt the almond bark and candy melts in separate microwave safe bowls in 30 second increments until melted and smooth. I usually work with one bowl and one color at a time so they stay melted as I work quickly. Using 2 forks dip each egg in the chocolate and gently shake off any excess.
Place the egg on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with colorful sprinkles. (Note: you can also take some of the melted candy melts and drizzle over the finished eggs as well).
Repeat with all the eggs then enjoy!

- 19.1 ounce package Oreo cookies
- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 package vanilla almond bark
- assorted colored candy melts (I used the Wilton bright pink, blue and yellow candy melts – they can be found at most Walmarts and craft supply stores)

Instructions

- Place the cookie crumbs and 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened to room temperature in a large mixing bowl and blend together with a hand mixer until combined (it should look like a thick paste.) Note: if you have a large enough food processor, you can just add the cream cheese to to the food processor with the cookie crumbs.
- Using a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop, form the cookie mixture into balls and then gently shape into an egg shape.
- Place eggs on a parchment paper lined sheet pan and put into the freezer for 30 minutes.
- When ready, melt 1 package vanilla almond bark andassorted colored candy melts in separate microwave safe bowls in 30 second increments until melted and smooth. I usually work with one bowl and one color at a time so they stay melted as I work quickly.
