Lyrics[edit]

Through the night to the day

When everything is gone

Carry this soul away from the dry lands

In the sun we see fighting over lines

All our dreams and wishes we sent home for safe keeping

Fighting for what’s right

Calling to the night

To dream again in the light

Waiting for a storm to rise

Feel the isolation fleeting

Calling to the night

To be or not to be fighting here

Leaving without you, leaving my soul behind

Calling to the night

Colors of kodachrome fade with time

Calling to the night

For us, for every single life

All the ashes of men remain as a perfect memory

Calling to the night

But the heart will remain

As a silhouette of time

Hear the ringing echoes in the splitting horizon

Calling to the night

Main Theme - METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER[edit]

Main Theme - METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER
Track title Main Theme - METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER
Universe Metal Gear
Debut game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Availability Default
Link [11]

Origin[edit]

This is the main theme of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which originally debuted in the game's E3 2009 trailer. In-game, the song would play during the opening movie and during the first phase of the fight against the Peace Walker. The full-length of the original song is 2 minutes 56 seconds, with the in-game versions trimming over a minute. A remixed version also appears in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain when preparing for missions. The Smash Bros. version is edited close enough to the Peace Walker boss fight version. In comparison, it starts a second earlier and does not loop seamlessly. Instead, the song properly ends and then loops from the beginning.

Trivia[edit]

  • The original version of Theme of Solid Snake is the only previous Metal Gear song not to be included in Ultimate.
  • Not counting DLC and Final Fantasy, which have no unlockable music in the base game, Metal Gear is the third-party series represented by playable characters with the least unlockable music in the game, with only 2 unlockable music tracks.
  • Unlike most remixes in Smash, "MGS4 ~Theme of Love" is owned by the original game developers instead of Nintendo themselves, in this case being Konami. This trait is shared with the remixes from the Sonic the Hedgehog, Final Fantasy and Undertale universes, as well as "Guile Stage" and "Vega Stage" from Street Fighter, which are respectively owned by SEGA, Square Enix, Toby Fox, and Capcom U.S.A.
