INTRODUCTION
Improved system of documentation for export announced by the government of India on 31march,1991 and should be adopted by the exporters as far as possible. to date of the arrangements was with only 80 countries around the world where UN layout (Master documents) are followed and through these counties Indian exporter could jolly well use the improved version of documents announced by the of India as per the new EXIM POLICY 1992-1997.And in remaining countries, the Indian exporters has to ascertain from the importer of his requirements and must comply to his dictates for the documents.

PRINCIPAL DOCUMENTS
PACKING LIST- it contain contents of containers with its weight and description of the checks of the contents by the customs on arrival at the port of destination as well as by the recipient. COMMERCIAL DOCUMENT-it contains all the information required for the preparation of other documents. C.O.O- it certifies the place of origin of the merchandise. it is issued by chamber of commerce. B/L-it is issued by a shipping company or its agent acknowledging that goods mentioned in the B/L have been duly received for shipment and undertaking to deliver the goods in like order and condition as received to the consignee. CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION-it is issued by the export inspection agency certifying that the consignment has been inspected under the export (quality control and inspection)Act,1993.

MASTER DOCUMENTS
BILL OF EXCHANGE(B/E)-one common methods of payment in international trade involves the use of B/E. as foreign B/E are drawn by the exporter, calling importer to pay at a determined time. SHIPPING ADVICE-it is used to inform the overseas customer about the shipment of goods.

CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE AND INSURANCE POLICY-it is issued by the insurance company that the consignment has been insured under the insurance policy, and founded that the requirements relating to insurance policy has been complied with as applicable and the risk is covered.

PERFORMA INVOICE. SHIPPING INSTRUTIONS. INSURANCE DECLARATIONS. INTIMATION FOR INSPECTION. SHIPPING ORDER. MATES RECIEPT. APPLICATION FOR C.O.O. LETTER TO BANK FOR NEGOTION OF DOCUMENTS.

AUXILIARY DOCUMENTS
PERFORMA INVOICE-it is the starting point of export contract. as and when the exporter receives the trade inquiry from the importer, exporter submits the performa invoice to the importer. SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS-a checklist of various instructions as exporter may like to give to shipping agent. INTIMATION OF INSPECTION-The application is to made on a prescribed form known as notice of inspection and submitted to the agency with following documents: (a) A copy of the commercial invoice. (b) inspection fee . (c) A copy of export contract (d) importers technical specification and for approved sample.

AUXILIARY DOCUMENTS
SHIPPING ORDER-it is issued by the shipping (conference) line intimating the exporter about the reservation of space for shipment of cargo through a particular vessel from a specified port and on a specified date. MATES RECIEPT-it is issued by the captain of the ship. it is an acknowledgement that the goods have been received on board the ship.

GATE PASS1/GATE PASS2-GP stands for gate pass. a GP form, is issued for the removal of exercisable goods on payment of duty. ARE-1-These forms are meant for removal of exercisable goods for export by sea port. before it was known as AR4/AR4 A. SHIPPING BILL-it is the main documents on the basis of which the customs permission is given. After the shipping bill is stamped by the customs, then only the goods are allowed to be carted to the docks. EXPORT APPLICATION-Port trust in India have prescribed their own documents for payment of port charges and handling shipment through their respective ports.

REGULATORY DOCUMENT
RECIEPT FOR PAYMENT OF PORT CHARGES-when the goods have cleared the port and all payments are duly made than the receipt obtained after making all the payment of ports this receipt obtained is issued by the shipping company which shows that there are no due regarding the port authorities in any case .And hence the receipt is obtained VEHICLE TICKET-It is the ticket prepared by the exporter, which contains the details of the vehicle number, description of goods, quantity ,name of the shipper, shipping bill number and port of destination. EXCHANGE CONTROL DECLARATION FORMS-Foreign exchange it requires that all exports to Nepal and Bhutan shall be declared on the following forms:-(a) GR Form (b) PP Form FREIGHT PAYMENT CERTIFICATE-Freight is charged on the basis of weight or measurement .when weight is the basis of measurement, the shipping company for the purpose of calculation of freight may accept the weight declared by the exporter. INSURANCE PREMIUM PAYMENT CERTIFICATE-It is a certificate which proves that all the Insurance Premiums ,are cleared and duty paid it is obtained by showing all the post receipts of Insurance Premium which were paid.
