Behaviour

• Temperature gradient monitoring (Values every 30 seconds)

• Gradient temperature compared to a limit
• Temperature gradient twice as high as the defective límite→
• Temperature gradient lower than limit → inverter ok
• The limit depends on the current power, on the fans, on the previous temperature
behavior.
• New error code: F0306 Max Temperature Gradient

Preload contactor test
Behaviour

• It is carried out at the start of the inverter (each time)

• The limit of the DC current is approximately. 5A
• The preload contactor opens and closes during the test.
• The DC voltage is measured during the preload switching process.
• Voltage difference > 5V → The precharge contactor works correctly
• Voltage difference < 5V → Precharge contactor failure / Measurement not possible due
to loss of irradiation.

New error code: F0900 Precharge Contactor

1 183 120
2 141 141
3 183 183
4 183 183
• Set the base time to :
• 20000ms/DIV
• 100kSamples
• 500Samples/S

• Start recording and save the file as soon as the window is completed.
• Stop the recording and save, naming the file as appropriate the vcb file

Manoeuvre (3)

• Send the vcb file as well as the vsc file to the relevant Bonfiglioli service.
• Fill in the checklist provided (see instructions for F0306 and F0900 given) and send it also to the
corresponding Bonfiglioli service.
• After analyzing it, it should be clear whether the alarm is understandable
• If the alarm is not understandable, Bonfiglioli will provide a specific file to unlock the inverter with
the error recognition tool. To find out how to work with this tool, please refer to the instructions
given.
• If it is understandable, it is necessary to export the AEC, then the steps to be taken will be analysed.

Checklist F0306 (1)
To be checked Yes No
Was the temperature of the solar inverter affected just before an error
occurred in opening or closing the solar inverter cabinet doors?
Has the internal temperature of the solar inverter been influenced by the
switching on or off of the station fans?
Are any of the module fans of the solar inverter defective? To check this,
follow the instructions below
Are any of the station's fans defective?

Are the ambient temperatures outside the limits of the solar inverter?

Are there other inverter modules with this error in the same RPS TL
system?
Is the AEC grid unit affected free of burn marks or burn odour?

Checklist F0306 (2)

Checklist error F0306

If more than one question can be answered with a yes in the above table, it can be assumed that error
F0306 has been triggered due to environmental influences rather than an internal defect. In this case
the AEC power supply unit can be unlocked and put back into operation under ReSC supervision at
Bonfiglioli Vectron. To assist ReSC at Bonfiglioli Vecton in analysing the circumstances, it is mandatory
to provide, if available, 30 second sampling time Scada data showing the temperature graphs of the
RPS TL system on the day of the error trip. (Raw Scada data will not be accepted)
If the error is repeated, the AEC must be replaced, if not, the operation must be monitored and an IR
check of the solar inverter cabinet must be performed and it must be ready after 1 hour of operation
with at least half of the power.

How to check the fans

To check the correct operation of the fans of the AEC network unit, it is necessary to carry out the
following procedures :
1. Testing of heat sink fans :
• The operation of the heat sink fans can be checked by changing the fan connection temperature
with parameter 039. The switching temperature must be changed to a value well below the
ambient temperature. Switch back to the default setting of P039=50 degrees.

2. Testing of internal fans :

• The internal fans are permanently in operation as soon as the AEC is supplied with a DC voltage in
excess of 330 V.
To check the functionality it is necessary to use a long zippered tie that must be inserted into the AEC
from the bottom through the grille, see image below.

Checklist F0306 (2)

1. Test the cabinet fan:

The operation of the heatsink fan can be checked by changing the fan operation mode via the
532. The mode of operation must be changed to: "100 - on". The cabinet fan should now be running.
After the test, the operating mode must be set back to "45 - Cabinet fan perm".

Checklist F0900 (1)
Checklist Error F0900
To be checked Yes No
Has the error been triggered by connecting only a small part of the
connected PV generator to the solar inverter?
Is the measurement of the precharge contactor > 8 ? (How to
measure the precharge contactor, see instructions below)
Is the AEC mains unit affected free of burn marks or burn odour?

Checklist Error F0900

If more than one question can be answered with a yes in the above table, it can be assumed that error
F0900 has been triggered due to environmental influences rather than an internal fault. In this case, the
AEC power supply unit can be unlocked and put back into operation. If the error recurs, the AEC must
be replaced if the operation is not to be monitored and an infrared check of the solar inverter cabinet,
especially the AEC power supply, must be carried out after 1 hour of operation with at least half the
power.

How to check the pre-charge contactor
This measurement checks whether the pre-charge contactors of the AEC battery in the de-energised
state are in the open position .

Necessary measuring equipment:

- Multimeter for resistance measurement
- Two test cables
- Fine probe
- Crocodile clips

How to check the pre-charge contactor
There are two types of AEC power blocks:

Type A Type B

14

Checklist F0900 (4)
How to check the pre-charge contactor
Common preparation for both types :
• The AEC must be disconnected from both DC and AC power sources. The inverter must be in
the STOP state and the DC switch to the generator must be open.
o Consider the five safety rules before you start work :

Five golden rules

Before starting work

- Disconnect
- Blocking to prevent feedback
- Check equipment and lines for absence of current.
- Ground and short-circuit phases
- Cover, mark or hide adjacent line sections

As the capacitors can still be charged after they have been switched off, take into account the
discharge time.

Manipulación (1)

In case F0306 or F0900 is analysed as a false positive, the locked AEC module can be unlocked with
the ErrorAcknowledgement Tool.

With the vcb file sent, the responsible branch service can create a unique unlocking file called
"EQSettings.txt".

This file belongs only to the inverter from which the vcb file was taken. How to install and use the
ErrorAcknowledgement Tool see next page.

If the file matches, the AEC module will be unlocked and can be restarted.

Please check the inverter module for at least 15 minutes with at least 50% of the rated output
power to ensure that no further errors occur.

Manipulación (2)

• Unzip the ErrorAcknowledgmentTool.zip file if

you have not already done so.
• Make sure that the file VectronLibrary.dll exists
in the same folder as ErrorQuitTool.exe.
• Save the EQSettings.txt of the inverter also in the
same folder
• Open the ErrorQuitTool.exe file
• Choose the right COM port
• Press connect
• If the correct EQSettings.txt is inside the folder,
the program will give a positive response.
• Once the connection has been established, it is
possible to acknowledge the error by pressing
the corresponding button.
