Sagarmala Projects
The Sagarmala Programme is an initiative by the
Government of India to enhance the performance of the
country’s port logistics sector.
Vision and Background
1. The Sagarmala Programme aims to reduce logistics costs
and improve the efficiency of India's economy.
2. The National Perspective Plan for the development of
India's coastline and maritime sector was released at the
Maritime India Summit 2016.

The National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) is being
developed at Lothal, Gujarat to showcase India's rich
maritime heritage dating back over 4,500 years.
