Lesson objectives:-

Shadow: a dark area or shape produced by a body coming between


rays of light and a surface.
Friction: conflict or disagreement caused by a clash of temperaments,
or opinions.
Temperament: a person's or animal's nature, especially as it
permanently affects their behavior.
Rationing: allowing each person to have only a fixed amount of (a
particular commodity).
Survival: the state or fact of continuing to live or exist, typically in spite
of an accident, ordeal, or difficult circumstances.

Scan carefully over chapter six. In your pairs
answer the following questions in your book:
1. How is Newt described?
2. What does Tom see through the glass?
3. Why is Newt a danger to Tom?
4. What emotive words are used to describe
Tom’s reaction to the creature?

Challenge: Imagine you are Tom. Sum up your


reaction to what Newt reveals in a 30 word diary
entry.
