    1. INTRODUCTION

    You will get a star


    and you have to
    write a number or a
    word that is
    important in your
    life, on each corner
    of the star. Then you
    share it with a
    classmate.
    1.2. Enhancing Vocabulary and Phrases
    ture Dictionary:
    roduce key vocabulary and phrases relevant to tourism and gastronomy.

    Step 1: You will be split up in groups.


    Step 2: Choose one representative
    of the group.
    Step 3: You will be given a word or
    phrase, and you have
    Introduce to
    key vocabulary and phrases relevant to tourism and gastronomy
    draw it on the board. Keep it simple
    enough to convey the word but
    without using any letter or numbers.
    Step 4: Once the picture is done,
    your group has to guess what it is!
    They will have 30 seconds to come
    up with the word. Otherwise it is the
    opponent
    group’s chance.
    3. Role play scenarios

    Develop communication skills


    and confidence in speaking.

    Activity: You will be given


    different situations and you
    will have to come up with a
    dialogue.
    After each conversation you
    will provide some feedback on
    how they handle the situation.
    4. Cultural Sensitivity
    To help students develop a deeper
    understanding of cultural sensitivity and
    the importance on this field.

    • What kind of cultural awareness do you as


    service industry students need to know
    concerning:
    • Greetings, language, cultural heritages,
    dietary restrictions, cultural significance of
    the food
    • Activity: Get in groups or pair according to
    your study field and give a brief
    presentation on the importance of cultural
    sensitivity in tourism and gastronomy.

    5. Problem – solving case scenarios
    To help students develop students practice critical problem-
    solving skills while simulating real-world challenges in
    tourism and gastronomy.

    Activity: You will be given different


    problems and you and your
    classmate (s) have to come with
    possible solutions.
    CONCLUSION

    or more challenging
    for you?
