Overview of Peptic
Ulcer Disease (PUD)
Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD) refers to
open sores that develop on the
lining of the stomach, small
intestine, or esophagus. When the
protective mucus lining weakens,
stomach acid irritates the
underlying tissue, resulting in these
ulcers.
Types of Peptic
Ulcers
1. Gastric Ulcers: Found in
the stomach lining.
2. Duodenal Ulcers: Located in
the upper part of the small
intestine (duodenum).
3. Esophageal Ulcers:
Occur in the esophagus.
Common Causes:
Vegetables 2 2 servings
