facts, they are always true. Another use of the present
simple is totalk about the things we do every day or very
regularly. Our habits, for example, a lot ofpeople go jogging
in the mornings. Italians often don't eat breakfast. Danny
often makes videos at home. These are all examples of
people's habits. We can also use the presentsimple to
describe how we or other people feel, as in these examples.
The Montreal waterfront is amazing. Ruby finds languages
fascinating. Danny andRuby don't mind speaking to grace

Present Continuous
What about the present continuous? When should we use it? The present
continuous is used todescribe more temporary situations, such as the
activities peopleare doing at the moment of speaking. You are now
learning English online andI am now explaining grammar. What are your
friends doing at the moment? Are they studying? Are they working?
Maybe they are relaxing. The present continuous can also be usedto talk
about longer temporary actions or events, such as what youare studying
at the moment. For example, Danny is studyingcommunication science at
university. Or to talk about a temporarysituation like Danny and Ruby,
who are looking after themselves atthe moment because Grace is away.
And Danny, who is followinglessons in person this week. You could also
use the present continuousto talk about a TV series you're watching at
the moment or a sport that youare enjoying doing in this period.
