IMPERATIVE SENTENCES

Imperative sentences are used to issue a command or instruction,


make a request, or offer advice.
• Pass the salt.
• Move out of my way!
• Shut the front door.
• Find my leather jacket.
• Be there at five.
• Clean your room.
RULES FOR CONVERTING ACTIVE VOICE INTO
PASSIVE VOICE IN IMPERATIVE SENTENCES:

• The imperative sentence in passive voice begin with letter "Let".


• The word "be" is used as an auxiliary verb in imperative
sentence of passive voice.
• Base form ( first form of verb) is converted into past participle
(third form of verb) in passive voice of imperative sentences.
IMPERATIVE SENTENCES
CONTAINING REQUEST:

Generally sentences containing request have the word ‘plea


Normal structure of sentences in active voice is:
Verb (first form)+object.
Normal structure of sentences in passive voice is :
You are requested to + verb (first form)+ object.
EXAMPLES:

• Please close the door. • You are requested to close the
door.
• You are requested to bring me
• Please bring me some apples. some apples.

• Please show me your tickets. • You are requested to show me


your tickets.
IMPERATIVE SENTENCES CONTAINING
ADVICE:

Passive voice of sentences containing advice start with ‘You are advis
to’.

Normal structure of sentence in active voice is:


Verb (first form)+object.

Normal structure of sentence in passive voice is :


You are advised to + verb(first form)+object.
EXAMPLES:

Passive voice of sentences containing command generally


start with ‘Let’.
Normal sentence structure of active voice sentences is:

Normal structure of sentence in passive voice is :
Let + subject + be + V-3
EXAMPLES:

We can change the sentence containing order into


passive voice by adding "you are order to".
